Re: Seats -suspension or not?
CR29 is correct!! Nick has a great containment seat in his Green truck but the truck he was in at Crandon looks to have a Cobra seat in it. I spoke with Nick this morning and he is resting at home and waiting to heal up.

The human spine is strongest when it is aligned upright. The more you are reclined, the more you are susceptible to back injury.

Re: Seats -suspension or not?
Seen Nick today, you could kinda say he is put putting around with all the extra hardware he has on. He is in great spirits and can't wait to go racing again.
Weather Nick would have got hurt in the green truck we will never know, That truck does have a containment seat with padding on both sides of the drivers conpartment and under the dash. It also has extra door bars and a extra vertical in the middle of the cab by his head in case you are are your side and get hit in the roof. After watching Jeff Siefert almost get hit that way it looked like a good idea. Ron Attig worked real hard at getting all the padding inside of the truck. This is the type of accident that you try to prepare you truck for. It bothers me that Nick got hurt in our truck. This type of converstion gets us all thinking of better ways to protect the drivers from being hurt.

Re: Seats -suspension or not?
Like I keep saying Gary and Tony have a better handle on the safety rules than the torc-usac guys do --- that’s why the green truck would be---- could be --- have been a safer choice ////So in 95 I saw a guy get his jaw-throat and chest get ripped open RIP ‘Pete Rose’ (editor and writer for Petersons off road magazine I think) at Crandon it was so sad and I was one of the first to arrive at the wreck---- and the driver was DANG cant remember his last name? --- but-- Chad was hit by a drunk driver 7 month later and left for dead on the side of the road up in the Upper part of Michigan -----CHAD? WHAT WAS HIS LAST NAME? --- he was such a nice guy for real’s----- like a Jeff or Rick Housman but nicer come on Scott Rehn what was his last name? You knew him too----- reeader racing?
Pete had 2 young kids like 2yrs and 8mo old just taking a ride for the first time---and god punched his ticket—
Well now you know why we do not allow passengers in our race cars--- that’s why!!!!!!!!
We can never be to safe --- as much as I complain about new safety rules and the way Tony and Gary go about implementing them its always the right dissension---
Things like letting a guy race with out his window net up at charlotte because of a major sponsor is un expectable. This is why I keep beating the drum for parity in the rules no matter whos name is on the side of the car or who you are-------
So I only hope one day this seat controversy gets settled for the better of the drivers in this industry once and for all---
How do you like me now?
