He actualy spent closer to 17K but that included a short course/open transmission As well as the desert box that is in the car now. A lot of guys let the class set their budget and sometimes buy what they will "get by" with.
Everything bought for this car was bought with the intentions to buy the best parts and not skimp on anything
His attitude is to buy the best parts he can and not have to make excuses when something he skimped on brakes (yes even though its a 9 car) It is a very nice car, all 4130, has a soft fuel cell that you install through the nut ring hole (that and the can could almost buy one of those rdc cars) all top of the line parts and was rebuilt with no ceiling on the budget.
So as you know Dave it adds up very quick.
By the way how the hell did thet 1600 car end up on the roof of your 5/1600 at parker

Re: $$$ If You know a guy with a Class 9 car $$$
Before prep was started this was a fully operational race car then completely rebuilt with the intention of racing the 2012 season.
When I spend money on a race car I see it as an investment verses a savings, this time last year the last thing I would of considered would be renting this car no less selling it, my intentions were to race the local series and have some fun but things change, our class 1 is now the priority and I am rotating the inventory should the opportunity present itself. But by no means have to sell or liquidate.
I would like to help the class 9 Big Race Car count and like to see the car do well that’s my motivation this is a onetime offer since we will be there racing our 1 car anyways
I will not argue on the internet about cost, but will gladly respond to any question by calling me at the number on the add
I have already been contacted by an interested party that realize the cost of racing and are trying to collect the necessary funding
The offer is new and early responses are promising
Yes I do realize there are people who can make or buy an entire race car for what I am asking for rental fees so if that is your thing enter it and help with car count

Up to 22 now, why don't some of you top guns from other classes dust off a buddy's old 9 car and come on out? Let's see this thing hit 40+!!!
If you can't afford it, make it!!!

Re: $$$ If You know a guy with a Class 9 car $$$
Question, you class 9 guys think you are so much faster than 5/1600, in the interest of car count will you let me race mine against you?? I would skip ensanada to SF to race you, in over 30 years racing 5/1600 not once has class 9 come close to beating me in a 5/1600, I am calling you out!!!

WHOA, Slow Your Roll
Dave ,12Lapaz was referring back to the 1900’s when you were stuck on a race course not visible to oncoming race traffic he Landed on your roof in a 1 1600 after you helped him remove his car he gave you some candy bars since you were going to be there for a while and was on this way
I don’t see where any one is calling you out on a 9 verse 5/1600, but looking at the time stamp on your post makes your reaction a little clearer to the rest of us
Bw1482 that is a great price for your car it should sell fast especially if it is in the SAME condition that my car is, any one that has owned a race car knows the car is the cheapest part keeping it in completive race trim is where the real money is spent.
How much would you rent your car for and include the same race logistic package I offer?
Come on and PONY UP put your car where your Keyboard and mouth is, obviously you can make a better deal than I can that’s why you posted.
I only offered to rent my car for rent for the sake of a larger car count for the BIG 9 RACE and not to be attacked by a few angry 4 cylinder ankle biters that offer nothing to this race but just sarcasm
I have not seen anything negative from of any of the racers that is on the entry list, the only noise is coming from you that are not entered

I would expect that your 5/1600 IS faster then a 9 car, the parts your allowed to run compaired to a 9 car are much stronger as well as allowing for more wheel travel.
Did someone in this post imply that their 9 car was faster then Your 5/1600 ??
With Your record No one would ever debate how fast You are... Would they ??
With all the experience you have calling out the 9 guys seems a little out of character for You.

Not a bad deal! Wish I had the money to rent it, except I would put Rulo in the car so he can win the race and make an extra $1500 on top of the $3500 investment, lol

He wasnt wrong.., I know first hand.. a series winning 9 car now takes some cash for the right goodies..its not as stock as you think..unless you build your own motors and trannys and shop out the used shocks and rack its costly.. a real motor to the rule is $4500 to $8500 if you build from scratch, a tranny is $2400 to $3400. Front end $550, shocks $1250, plates and t bars another $1k.. on and on..of course no one will tell you thats what it costs, but thats what it costs to rehab..
A prep on en existing car for any race to win is going to be a tranny and front end rebuild at a minimum and for Barstow you mag it all and look for good t bars..its a $1800 mini prep for sure..
