B.O.R.E. Ely 200 Results

B.O.R.E. held their third and last race of the season on Sept. 3rd and 4th.
Only three cars showed up to do battle in Ely, NV. but the racing was good. The race was to be 7 laps of 30 miles each, for a total of 210 miles.

Cameron Blackley was first of the line, followed by Dave Sams and Brett North starting third. At the end of lap 1, Cameron was first to cross the line, with Brett right on his tale, only 9 sec. behind on the track and in first place on time by 51 sec. Dave was a close third only 1 min. 17 sec. behind Cameron on time.
Lap 2 had no changes with Brett still in front, Cameron narrowed the gap to 45 sec. with the fast lap of the day for the class at 46 min 2 sec. Dave still in third, but losing some time to stop and change fouled spark plugs at the start of the lap, now 6 min 47 sec behind Cameron.
Lap 3 still had Cameron coming across the line first, but now also first on time, Brett had droped to second having steering problems, but only 2 min 12 sec back. Dave was still bringing up the rear, now 8 min 17sec behind Brett.
Lap 4 had no changes, Cameron still in first, Brett in second, 2 min 11sec back, and Dave another 9 min 4 sec behind Brett.
Lap 5 would see a change, with Brett dropping out with a broken steering box at the start of the lap. Cameron was still in front by 11 min 54 sec over Dave, who was now in second.
Lap 6 had Cameron still running in front, but dropping his lead to 3 min 38 sec over Dave, having lost about 10 min due to a right rear flat.
Lap 7 had Cameron coming in first for the win, but Dave was charging hard with his fast lap of the day to narrow the gap to 2 min 59 sec.

Thanx Dean!!! It's been a long time coming. First Championship in 11 years. I just wish we could have had a few more cars for the last race. We will be there next year to defend our Championship. Hope to see you there.
