Class 9 vs. 5/1600 Challenge for 2013???

Only way this would work would be a year long fastest average speed deal..... whoever was interested would put up the cash at the start of the season, and highest MPH at year end takes the pot. A one race shot is going to go to a 5/1600 every time. Guaranteed

I think the only to make it fun would be like when they race the pro-2 vs the pro-4 and single buggy's vs the politesse where they start the faster classes a little behind the slower class but they race first to the line so I still don't know how it would ultimately work out. Just a thought. Heads up, we'll get smashed.

I guess I will chime in on this, if you look at lap times from BAP a class 9 car has kicked butt. Yeah class 9 have beat 5/1600 in Barstow/Lucerne many times but sorry to say, if all this $$$$ is up for grabs you will attract Ledezma, Negrete, Savedra, Rulo, Hendrickson (when he gets the bugs worked out) and they will steal all of it. I love competition and it would be fun, but just to be in the top 5 with a 9 car would be a feat. One of the main reasons class 9s have beat the 5/1600s is because there are so few who run regularly. I am a class 9 buggy dork so don't hate me for saying this as it is only my opinion.

I have been taking to SNORE about having a heat race at Battle at Primm 2013 for just Class 9 and 5/1600 cars. I hear everyone’s argument on both sides about Class 9 vs 5/1600, and I agree a 9 car should get beat by a 5/1600. At the same time I think it would be a great show if both classes are in 1 heat all mixed together at the start line. Everyone says that the limited classes don't get any love, well here is the chance. I think we could get 30 class 9 cars and 20 5/1600 cars. Score the classes for points separately and even keep the purse separate (i say combine the $$) and we can raise bonus money for the overall top 3. I already know of a trucking guy that will kick in some cash. Who cares if the 9s get beat, we should. I would have no problem losing knowing we were pushing the car 120%. Its racing, it would bet a great event for the limited class for both for racers and spectators. Here are the BAP results for the last 4 years if the 2 classes were combined. Please keep in mind that what heat each class ran was NOT taken into consideration

BAP is the place to do it.. go for it.. mix up the start based on the drawing, combine the payback , set up a side deal with SNORE to create the finish posistions on actual and score the points seperate based on class finsih in your group.. but pump it up in the media now and make it a good time.. it wont hurt I promise..

What is the down side to this?

I picked the wrong time to exit the class with stuff like this coming out.. next youll have the USA-Mexico Class 9 Challenge in Mexicali or somthing..

2 years before I beat the pants off 5/1600 with my class 11 every lap at BAP including Rulo and the super majority of 9s on time also! Just sayin!, 586 would be more than happy to start behind all the 9s at BAP. Count me in for rear start! Come on Bud line up next to me!
