GO PRO Question
Is there a program I need to down load to make my go pro video so I can burn a CD?
I down loaded the camera to my windows media player I can view them from my computer successfully.
When I try to burn a CD it only records the audio, I went back and now a pop up says it is too large to fit on a disk and another pop up says something about media usage rights.
I have been using DVD+R disks
How do I load video onto the internet?
Any help would be appreciated
I would have posted this in shop but not as many people respond as they do in this section

Re: GO PRO Question
Most dvd-r's hold 4 GB, go pro can be a huge file. you pass up 4 GB with in 30 min depending on the camera set up. You need editing software to cut up the video into smaller clips. to get it up on the net create a you tube account and just load it to it.

Re: GO PRO Question
There's more to this.....You've been told the simple answer that the files can be too large to burn to dvd......The camera setting can help if you don't mind a little less resolution, and adding a bit more compression during the final rendering of your movie.....
I can tell you this....most videos for fun shouldn't be much longer then 3-5 minutes unless there is a LOT of different angles and scenes. Watching a single angle view of the same thing for any length of time can get stale.....
When I ride my bike in the desert, nobody wants to watch 45 minutes of just me riding, I'll cut the whole thing down....

Re: GO PRO Question
Since you are using Windows, have you tried Movie Maker that is probably already loaded on your computer?
If you are running Vista or earlier you should already have it on your computer - just do a search for it. Using Windows 7, you might have to download it from Microsoft.
You can read up on this free program from --->>here<<---
Hope this helps.

Re: GO PRO Question
Yes I used the windows 7 program, it burned a disk I can play on my computer ,I get picture and sound but when I try it on my dvd player I only get sound.
I tested the cd on 2 separate players and tried different CD’s the problem is with my disk I tried to burn
I downloaded a program from the gopro website but can’t find it on my computer.
I read on the internet that the program doesn’t work well with the HD camera
Can anyone suggest a program (hd compatible) I can purchase at best buy or a local store ?

i found this out the hard way. LOL i posted some 9 minute videos of the dezert on youtube from my rc quadcopter, and somebody else would post up where the action was on the timeline. i later trained myself to edit and add music.

If it's the original Movie Maker, it does not play well with GoPro's native file format...The later version MM Live does...BUT it also kind of sucks as they(M/Soft) gutted all the real controls and now a 5 yr old can put togather a very simple movie......

Rather than straight copying the files you need to "burn to DVD" which will re-render the video and allow it to be played using a standard DVD player.
Microsoft Movie Maker will do this with the correct codecs.
I use the next step up, a tonne more control and with it complexity, Sony Vegas HD Platinum.

Re: GO PRO Question
DivX Pro Converter is really cheap and super easy. It will take your file and make it into a high quality vid, yet MUCH smaller and more manageable. Its what I just used to take the 16gig LOORRS file from the race on Sun and bring it down to the 316meg file I uploaded to vimeo. Link in the short course section to that vid for comparison.
