Ford 9in gear ratio
I have a extended cab f150 with a C6 behind a 302 runnin 405 hp and 380 ft lbs torque at 6500 rpm. What is a good gear ratio so I can get in the triple digits on the fast sections and not stuck between 1st and 2nd or 2nd and 3rd in the slower more technical stuff. I don't know much about rearends so any help is appreciated. I have 4.56 in it now but haven't got to run it due to it still being built. Thanks in advance

Re: Ford 9in gear ratio
Are you still going to use this on the street, or dirt only? what size tire? If dirt only,on 35" or 37", you want 5.50 to 6.00

Re: Ford 9in gear ratio
I ran a F150 in Stock Full for several years and tried all sorts of ratios. With 35" tires and 450 HP my favorite was 4.10 and we often saw speeds of 115.

Re: Ford 9in gear ratio
It will depend on your tire size..... But with a ratio of 5.13 + or -, and a true 33" tire you should be able to get into the 'over' 100mph range (over 5000 RPM's) depending on trans stall/slippage.
