I would be racing this but I am promoting my new category... pedal-power car class.... $5million to 1st place for a human-powered car (4-wheels, steering wheel, SCORE tagged). Who is in? anyone? hello! ..... yoohoo... anyone?

Sure, EVs are showing amazing speed and acceleration.... but endurance is not in the vocabulary for an EV. Solar charging? haha.. the sun will be down before you get to San Felipe. woops! ( and whoops!!)

Just put a big alternator on the car to charge the batteries - simple!

I bet it could finish, just need to have "solar charged" battery cells instead of gas at their pits.

There is already a dual purpose mechanical component that has been developed that converts usually wasted Kinetic energy into an electrical current that will charge your batteries; therefore eliminating the need for an alternator. It is in use in Government Contracts for the US Military thus far. This eliminates the need for solar power to charge the battery bank.
If the Race EV's were able to use this technology, battery charge longevity could be sustained indefinitely.
