Nimmy your actually making more quad classes than there already is lol. In SCORE theres 3 quad classes and i think it should be down to 2 classes(not enough quads and too much sand bagging)
Btw bikes already have age classes( classes 30,40,50, and 60)

Re: If you had to push the RESET button on classes....
Yeah I don't know too much about quads. Okay 1 big quad class and sportsman quad. Bingo!
I know bikes have age groups, I like that so I kept it. He he he!
I did some crazy stuff like totally eliminate Baja bugs open and 5/16 and class 12. All 3 of those are epic classes but holy cow I think there's just way too many classes.
Heck I'm a whack job but racing in TT with 35 other trucks is very tough. I like that. Racing in a class of 5 or 6 is still tough but holy cow I can't even tell you how hard we worked just to get 14th and 17th at the 500 in TT. I think everyone should have the chance to experience that kind of competion.

Spec classes in one big class and it would be the responsibility of whoever built or sold the respective different cars to offer purses and prizes to their cars. As the promoter I would award top 3 only regardless. You can always enter 1450 or sportsman buggy if you don't like this.
1450 and Sportsman buggy
Bikes:

Under 300 open pro (development teams)

Sportsman bike open to whatever you wanna ride but one class

4 hour time gap between bikes and vehicles. Any bikes or quads in danger of being caught will be stopped at checkpoints and not allowed to finish. You better have your act together.
You left out the stock Raptor class....lol
Imagine a class with 500 entry's. lol

Re: If you had to push the RESET button on classes....
Can I ask why we aren't combining TT and CL1?
Don't say it's because they're already both popular and highly competitive. Didn't Pistol rip his truck body off and run as a CL at LDC or something???
HOW ABOUT...Unlimited budget open class (TT & CL1's that have a build price of $XXX,XXX and higher) and limited budget open class?? (TT's and CL1s that fall short of that made up, non-exhisting number that I made up and didn't even type out above??)

Re: If you had to push the RESET button on classes....
At the 500 Class 1 had 19 entries. That seems like enough entries to carry a class on it's own. You can tear the body off a TT and run class 1 or you could bolt a body on a class 1 and run TT but for the most part buggies and TT's take a very different approach to covering ground in the desert.
This is gonna tick off a bunch of peeps but we really don't need 7 different classes running some form of a 40 year old vw engine do we?
1/2 1600 and class 11 ought to be able to cover it.
Bottom line is promoters make money from entries. You wanna race and pay money to do so, then there will be a class for you. It's a lot like Bonneville, well it ain't that bad but very similar.

Re: If you had to push the RESET button on classes....
I think we could get it down to 5 classes, and have better payouts and more fun for everyone.
TT (unlimited, including tire size, fuel induction, turbine engine, whatever you want, class 1 cars race here too).
Mod/Spec (6, 8, 7 open, super 8)
Buggy (10/12/1600/4/5 unlimited) basically Buggies all run together
Production - stock full, stock mini, 7S, 1450, 5-1600, anything with a Stock body
Sportsman - 9, 11, utv make the tough guys earn it!
Turbo, supercharger, diesel, electric, turbines, etc. should be allowed in any pro class.

While I am not as concerned on the number of classes, What I would give to have them all numbered the same and called the same in each and every series and all have the same rules among them...
