I agree, I do not think that you can blame Oberg for this. Those are a very poor choice of words for your discription.

I would like to make a quick update. When I copy/pasted my description from the YouTube video for this thread it says as you can see, "Barlow hits Mike Oberg", but I forgot to change it as I did on the video when I posted it here. It is correct in the YouTube description that Oberg went wide into Barlow. I don't think Barlow needs unnecessary blame for something out of his control.

Here is what the description below the video should have read in this thread:

"Mike Oberg goes wide into Steve Barlow in the infamous turn 1 causing Barlow to bike the truck and cross paths with Andy Zipperer. Zipperer had nowhere to go but into and right up Barlow's truck. Barlow took out the guard rail as Zipperer nearly went into orbit. He even had enough time to shut his truck off in the air! Everybody was fine; Andy even went on to finish 2nd in PRO Buggy later in the day."

Hopefully I haven't made anybody think Barlow screwed up.

I think your new description is perfect. No blame is being placed, just your description of what the video will show when the user watches it. I am sure dust was a big part of the issue and every driver except the leader had visability issues.

looking at the video and amount of dust in the air i don't think its fair to blame anyone for this incident. Mike's line may have been "wide" but he was ahead of barlow and couldn't see his different line entering the turn.

I'm not saying Oberg is to blame either, it's just what happened in the situation, but a racing incident. We all know turn 1 is crazy. Things like this have happened before and will undoubtedly happen again.

Both going for the same real estate...it's the start of a race in turn 1 at Crandon; not the first time it's happened. Imagine if it were "old" turn 1 before they banked it. It's time for a real catch-fence on that far side though. Because of the banking, the guard rail is a launch pad...as evidenced by #76.
