Only if you have $400,000 per year to race. That leaves about 95% of everyone in short course out of that series.

you mean about 95% of them CAN afford it. you think the top tier teams in short course are spending half of that to get on the podium? i would say they spend an extra 100k on top of that.
dont count the single buggy or super buggy guys.
When a man knows how to live dangerously, he is not afraid to die. When he is not afraid to die, he is, strangely, free to live.
With that mentality though, I guess we could also make 2 TT classes for those guys that just can't keep up with the faster TTs. Oh wait.... This is racing. - Dan Vance

Everyone (well, most everyone) getting consistent podiums in Pro 2/Pro 4 are spending more than $400k a year.

The 400grand would go a long way in the loorrs or torc series or spend the next 3 years trying to get back your $400 grand on the NORRS Sanctioned SST racing series. it would not surprise me to see that fat basteeerd working with rg
How do you like me now?

Thats an interesting thought... If say, Robby Woods, Carl Renezeder, Brian Deegan or any of the other Lucas Oil sponsored drivers decided that they wanted to honor their friends Rick and Jeff and the entire Huseman family by attending and racing this race, would Lucas Oil pull their sponsorship of them?
I would hope not of course, but it is an interesting thought.

My guess is that Lucas would not give them additional $$ to race, they'd have to pay out of pocket. Way too much invested in there drivers to drop them over one race.

Food for thought:
How do you determine what is out of pocket or if the funds come from the support that was designated for a set and specific amount of races?
