No, this statement is not true.

TORC is doing fine in the midwest. yes, truck counts are lower than Lucas but they put on some great races due to the consistent quality of teams from 1st through the back.

the fact than Lucas feels threatened by a single event is what makes me curious. it would have been so much easier to have not said anything and have one race with everyone there....

Dirty, TORC had more unique fans at spring Crandon than Lucas will see all year; you can't begin to argue fan count for the season....

Rick, you crack me up....not sure where you hear your rumors....

If RG's deal goes big none of this will matter....

FWIW, personally i wish TORC wasn't going to Cali and we weren't having this discussion but one big race with all the best drivers would be awesome to see!
    TORC Pro-4 coming soon!
(Not sure what i was thinking when i purchased Greaves truck)

Food For Thought: If this statement is true how is this good for the sport?

Pro4, Pro2, Prolite, Probuggys, Limited buggys and Trophy Karts get parked in the garages? Again how is this good for the sport? Ton's of teams have invested MILLIONS of dollars into Short Course Off Road not RG Stadium Truck Racing? Please Anyone Enlighten me? Thanks in Advance.

Not trying to argue. But let me wrap my head around your statment.

1- If you add up all the people that go to the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series all year this still does not equal the amout of people that go to one Spring Crandon?

    Or

2- Or One Spring Crandon has more people then any of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing single events?

Maybe watching this video will HOPEFULLY put everything BACK into perspective. Enough of the bickering and stupid one-sided thought processes. Lets just RACE WHERE EVER WE CHOOSE!!

    I didn't say it was....

yes, add up all the unique fans at every LOORRS event all year and you won't have what TORC had at spring Crandon. (unique, just like unique web hits, take out all the teams and families that are at every event) Don't get me wrong, LOORRS is drawing some decent crowds, i wouldn't doubt they're better than TORC had at Charlotte but you can't touch TORC's total fan base and until you've been to Crandon you might never get it but maybe this picture from 2011 will help. (unlike many grandstand shots from the track the hill is just as full as it looks in this side shot.)

I have not had the opportunity to experience Crandon and don't know the TRUE numbers of Crandon's front gate just as you or 99.9% of the people here on race-dezert.com. All we can do is speculate and guess.

Again awesome photo and let's keep SHORT COURSE OFF ROAD RACING STRONG!!

    Thanks for sharing.

Near the end of the video I caught the Huseman Race is a 3 year deal.

if TRAXXAS/mike and mark fall in luv with robby (as i have heard) and spend millions with him and his series.......will torc be fine WITHOUT those MILLIONS??? remember the entire prolite success in torc (which is a HUGE success, imo) is based on the money they pour into it.....and will the robby/speed series take over the crandon/bark river venues??? that would be an interesting ALLIANCE (robby/torc) to rival the now leader LUCAS......carry on.....

If you remember Perris, they had great spectator turnout. Las Vegas @ the Dirt Track had terrible racing conditions, but as far a spectator numbers probably the same or slightly better than the LOORS Vegas stand alone track. Oshkosh when the PROs raced, had to turn away spectators because the grandstands were over sold. Red Bud had a monsoon and tornado in year one, and this year hellish temperatures that kept the #'s down, but at least as large as the LOORS Vegas crowd.

Granted Charlotte and Chicagoland are works in progress, the large grandstands make the crowd appear smaller, but the #'s are improving.

I'm not sucking up to TORC, just trying to keep the facts in the proper perspective.

    Re: Shortcourse UNIFICATION??...is it here??

Ok, I don't care either way how many people are in the stands because so far it doesn't seem to be idiots the drivers except that the promoters are happy and keep putting on races, and yes I have been to both BK and Crandon, and yes they get huge crowds, but it is also the only thing going on in that area that weekend, those people plan to go to those races every year, it is there vacation, out west there are a ton of things going on so to get full grand stands I feel is a huge deal, in my mind.
Also, since the early days of corr all I've heard is Midwest teams can't afford to travel, so why at the 11th hour did they decide to throw a race out west? How many Midwest teams will this benifit? Seems to me me Torc does want some of the west coast fan money!
And yes I am all for supporting the Hussman family, but i also feel if Torc wanted to do this huge race to support them a call should have been put in to Lucas to explain what they had planned and see how it could be done to not effect either series and support the family without causing all this mess.
