The driver's should be able to race where they want. Bring back the PDG.

Talking Re: Shortcourse UNIFICATION??...is it here??

Thats an interesting thought... If say, Robby Woods, Carl Renezeder, Brian Deegan or any of the other Lucas Oil sponsored drivers decided that they wanted to honor their friends Rick and Jeff and the entire Huseman family by attending and racing this race, would Lucas Oil pull their sponsorship of them?

I would hope not of course, but it is an interesting thought.

Let Lucas Oil pull thier sponsorship from them. I'm sure Amsoil would be happy to step up and sponsor them.

United States Off-Road Drivers Association USODA lol
Drivers will never do this again--lol but it’s fun to throw around---
This won’t ever happen because they like the drama! And people-drivers like to be abused for some reason?
Tony and Gary have been doing a good job and got us where we are to this point. some more fine tuning. And the guys at TORC just need to learn to go with what is working in regards to the rules --- but i will give them(TORC) the V8 pro light rule but loorrs got it right with the Pro-buggy Chevy Ecotec motor program.
My thoughts are to give the pro-2s a min weight and a 410ci motor rule and a fuel injection package, this would not cut cost in this class but it would be better racing
and let the P-4s go nuts unlimited

    Re: Shortcourse UNIFICATION??...is it here??

It really isn’t about unification. It’s about everyone getting along. Recognize and respect each series for what it is. If a racer wants to “barnstorm” certain races because of the purse, recognition, or just because they want to, the racer should be more than welcome to the opportunity. After all don’t the majority of racers want to compete against the best in their craft. …….

And when it comes to creating improved rules for PRO-2, it’s all about the tires. If you don’t have a tire deal for PROJECT tires, purchasing PROJECT Tires is expensive. Need to adapt the tire rules to allow for as many tire manufacturers as possible to have the chance to showcase their brand. If the tire designs/compositions change in the right way, you won’t need 900+HP to get on the podium. The more tire companies vying for the podium the better the exposure for the racer, the series, and the tire brand.

…. Yes the ECOTEC is the way to go in Super Buggy. TORC/USAC believes that as well. It is just taking more time. TORC with the help of MORR lets the drivers in the class voice their thoughts and some are not convinced about the advantages of the crate program. Similar to the West Coast PRO-Lite situation.

    Re: Shortcourse UNIFICATION??...is it here??

The whole race spec tire is so stupid, every class should be running standard off the shelf tires anyone can buy at their local tire store. That goes for desert racing also.

Same thing with the crate motors, the people who dont want them are the ones with deep pockets trying to BUY an advantage.

Its always the same thing in any series, those who have money and are willing to spend to the moon to get every advantage possable versus common sense and whats best for the sport. Problem is MONEY TALKS and race promoters are no different then politicians in that if you want to be heard bring lots of MONEY.

    Re: Shortcourse UNIFICATION??...is it here??

I think the way Gary and Tony did the new rule is great 58 duromeater done deal----- has to be same tread and construction as in a line of tires from 28-10.50 to 38-10.50
    problum solved
