Re: Shortcourse UNIFICATION??...is it here??
XSAN.TV is almost done editing the Michelle Wilson Huseman interview we did the day after the Crandon International Off Road Raceway grandstand dedication & the announcement of the "Huseman Memorial Cup" weekend. Cant wait, should be a rather big EYE-OPENER for some of the negative people discounting the motives of USAC,TORC, & the racers for wanting to do it, but then again, I wouldnt expect ANYTHING positive to come out of the mouths of a "few certain",,,,,(cough),,,,,individuals who arent even RACING in EITHER series.

How about this “what if” scenario just for FUN….. What if…. In 2008 Bob from Lucas Oil came to all the same racers that attended the drivers meeting in Utah and told them that Lucas is creating a short course series and will guarantee them 7 new state of the art purpose built tracks on the west coast. 15 rounds of racing over 8 weekends with a Cup race at end of season with large payouts in the 5 digit range. Plus have a TV package totaling 230 hours of exposure spread across five major networks; CBS, CBS Sports, NBC Sports, SPEED and MAVTV. Bring Major Sponsorship to the series in the form of national corporation such as Rockstar Energy, E3 Spark Plugs, Geico, etc. Creating over $63.4 million in value for series sponsors and an additional $48.4 million in value for team sponsors, for a total annual exposure value of $111.8 million to the series and team sponsors. Have Pro truck & Pro buggy class with car & truck counts at 15-20+ at each event. Fund three separate Regional Series to help grow the National Series and help existing short course track & promoters in regional areas. Provide a SAFE & FAIR racing environment with professional and committed crew and administrators. All of this by the mid 2012………Only catch is you have to remain loyal to Lucas series and not compete in competitors events in California.
Just out of curiosity, I wonder if anyone would have had an issue with Bob’s request if it was offered to them in 2008! My gut tells me that Rob Mac & Leduc and everyone else would have signed up in a heartbeat! But that is just my opinion.
Just for the record I think Pistol is not that far off on this one. The Rick Huseman Memorial aspect of this situation may be clouding the judgment of some. If in any way this event is a detriment to Lucas and what they are trying to accomplished, is that something Rick would want? I don’t know, I didn’t know Rick & Jeff and I certainly can’t speak for their family. I would guess that the both of them appreciated and respected what Bob & Lucas Oil are trying to accomplish with this sport. Again, just my opinion.

TORC "Truck counts are low, fan counts are low, they're in a state of disorganization."
With all the talk about the event, for me the bigger statement form the video was my quote above. Is this true? Ive also noticed the main players in the pro 2/4 divisions in TORC are some of the main players in the now defunct PDG... is this a coincidence or are the guys just trying to hang on to a series that they thought would be the biggest success for the sport?

Disgruntled Chula Vistan... till we get racing back to where it belongs... haha

As long as Jenkins keeps writing those 7 digit checks I would say yes.
It all depends on where his breaking point is?

Well I have been to all the TORC races this year, minus Charlotte, the fan counts have been great! Not to sound one sided, but the amount of fans that show up to Crandon and Bark River are greater than all of the LOORRS races put together, if not really close to it. As for disorganization, I'm not seeing it either.....
