Re: Calliente 250 updates
Hearing that there will be about 80 although I'm being told that several drivers who did not pre-enter showed up Friday. No question that drivers and their crews love coming to Caliente -- and the residents of Caliente also love SNORE.

Re: Calliente 250 updates
The wind is blowing with temperatures in the 90s Friday in this fascinating old railroad town about three hours from Las Vegas. Temperatures are expected to be in the 60s when the race starts Saturday at 8 a.m. Said one racer, 'It's hot up here, but it's sure not Vegas-hot, that's for sure."

Re: Calliente 250 updates
While there are no race and sports books in the Caliente area, I'm being told that the top picks for the overall winner of the Caliente 250 are Class 1 drivers CJ Hutchins, Josh Daniels and TJ Flores. It's also good seeing Team Ford owner Steve Olliges continuing to compete in SNORE events while also remaining the top Rapter selling automotive executive in the country. Olliges's keen business sense and off road talent is proof that the combination of the two makes good business sense.

Race Director Kenny Freeman welcomed a great field during the driver's meeting. The race was started at abou 8 a.m. with 81 official entries.

Re: Calliente 250 updates
One of the big-time favorites who is entered in the Caliente 250 is long-time KOMP disc jockey Craig Williams, who is running a Champ Car out of the Kenny Freeman pits. A native of Mesquite, Williams is having the time of his life in off-road racing and has his family here in Mesquite to cheer him on.
