Re: Calliente 250 updates
A big THANK YOU to F & L fuel.
Saw them at stateline early Friday & told them we were trying to get our gmc 3500 truck HP brake line that blew repaired in Vegas at the dealers.
We didn't get the "it's fixed" call from GM Las Vegas until 9am Saturday. Couldn't make the race.
The nice Thank you for F & L was that they called me Friday night to see if we were all right and coming. They are always attentive and go a long way to be at the races. :-)

Re: Calliente 250 updates
a tree branch got stuck between my lower shock mount and brake line pinching the line and causing the brakes to drag from mm5 till the S/F at mm58. Made it tough to go fast on the fire roads.
My wife Stretch (who was my only pit support at main ) ran across the track and got Roger Starkey and crew to help with a repair and bleed job. THANKS TEAM STAR !!!!!
It was a good day for me but I gave up to much time with the brake drag and then drove off a cliff on lap three trying to catch Kyle Cox. I was smart enough to just hold on and keep it straight and managed to get back to the course driving up a creek bed. GOOD TIMES...........
Thanks to RACE FUEL Energy Drink for their support, TEAM STAR, and the FREEMAN GANG for their help, FAIR for providing a pit for everyone, and my wife for putting up with me for the 6 day trip.
1211 miles there and back the drive to and from was harder than the race, which is the MOST FUN EVENT I have ever done in 40 years of racing.....PERIOD !
Sunday I went with Kenny Freeman and Stretch to the top of the world ( the fire look out at the peak ) to retrieve the repeater, and at 11,000 feet you could see UTAH and Rainbow Junction in Nevada ! It was absolutely breathtaking, and about 45 degrees cooler too. Great job to SNORE for such a great event and KENNY FREEMAN for all he does for us racers. Few people realize how hard this guy works on putting up stakes and arrows, dealing with the BLM, and making it all happen. Firemans BBQ was awesome as was the BBQ at the 30 mile mark on the pre run. Special thanks to POOCH and the FREEMAN Team for the moon on the last lap, I almost wrecked my car laughing.
Second place was just a added bonus.............................Giti
P.Diddley you should have been there, your name is still on the car ..........so you kind of were in spirit.............

Here is the photos I promised. Driver said the car got sideways after hitting the brakes to get through the trees you can faintly see in the 2nd photo. He clipped the tree on the drivers side. Furthur investigation showed the right front brake line had let loose. He ended up on the 2nd tree after the trailing arm ripped off. It took him a long while to get to us after doing it on the first lap so me and one of Blaine Conrad's guys hiked out to make sure he was OK and bring him some water knowing that he was real close to us.

It was nice with you cheering us through every lap dude...glad we didn't need your services...you probably saw on our facebook page (facebook.com/desertrunnersracing) that we had a broken throttle cable I had to replace on lap 2 between Pit B and your check point....

Fourstroker, thank you and your Pit C team very much!
Greatly appreciated!
I'm assuming that wheel is now not worth saving?
