Custom Fuel cell bladders?
Well i used to have a old dirt sports mag that highlighted a company that builds custom bladders, although think i wupped the wifes dog with it one to many times. Anyhow does anyone have any info on bladder builders. I was originally going to just build a .125 tank swish around some of that tank sealer and call it good. Safety concerns have me second guessing my self not to mention if id like to run a race this would not pass tech. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

It's not about how much faster you can go, it's about how much longer you can go faster.

Second for Pyrotect! Great guys and give you a better product and price than the others. Steve Russell owned Fuel Safe for many years sold it not too long ago and is now making fuel cells under the Pyrotect name. Definitely top quality!!

Re: Custom Fuel cell bladders?
Well i found the dirt sports mag Nov 2006 , company is Aero Tech in santa fe springs. Quoted me $2200 for 32g bladder only, no can, no filler. I allready have these. Must say i was shocked. Fuel safe sells cells complete for similiar cost. Looks like its going to be a $20 can of motorcycle tank sealer. I know what everyones thinking, but its no race truck and i could use the other $2000 for wheels & tires. Ill try pyrotech but my instict tells me the only manufacture standard cells, no custom bladders.

Scroll down to page 4, should give you a good idea of pricing.

Unless your "can" was actually built to be a tank, I would really recommend against sealing it up and running it. Unless it's built pretty stout with internal baffles the sloshing will tear it apart. You can add foam, but good stuff that doesn't break down isn't cheap either........

I'm pretty certain Pyrotect does do custom cells. Look at the top of that flyer I posted earlier, it shows a pretty sweet custom cell. Anyway I understand your budget concerns, but really think about using the tank you have with just sealing it up. Partybarge has a good point with the baffels. At the very least use either foam or baffles to keep the fuel from sloshing if you indeed feel that the tank is built well enough. 32 Gallons x 7 lbs/gallon is 224 pounds of fuel sloshing around. That's a bit of weight

Re: Custom Fuel cell bladders?
Well im truly glad you guys talked some sense into me, I contacted Harmon and for under a Grand they'll build my bladder. Im going to ship out a end view template to them because of the complex shape. And unfortunetly need to cut out 2 tubes to get cell in place upon arrival. the only tubes ive had to cut out on whole chassis. I will post pics of there bladder as soon as it gets here. Going to build the can bottom out of .125 aluminum. and the top cover .095. Once again I appreciate the feedback, I did not want to come off as el cheepo it was just a little bit of a shock at 2200. Thanks RDC.

.125 Aluminum is really heavy for a 32 gal fuel cell?
