Newbie lookin for tips

Hello everyone I'm from Texas and a few friends and I are pondering getting into baja. We've all been into rock climbing for a bit but it's to damn slow. We have a f150 we wana build up if we decide to do this. But before we start chucking money into this we would like to try a couple a couple of trails. Does anyone know anywhere in Texas we could go for a weekend and speed around on some trails? Also any tips or advice would be appreciated.
