    Re: quad tire choice

Alright, dug some tires out of the shed and weighed them. Both the razr and razr2 tires I have are 6 ply and are mounted on the same rims, DWT G2 9x9 dual beadlocks. The razr combo weighed 22.8 pounds and the razr2 combo weighed 25.4 pounds. wasn't a totally even comparison, the razr's are pretty new, have about 80% of the tread left, while the razr2's are very worn, maybe only about 40% of the tread left, maybe less. All my razr2 are about worn out, been awhile since I have seen a new one, can't remember exactly how much tread is on them new.

I just used my bathroom scale to weigh these. First I stepped on the scale on my own, then stepped off, picked up the wheel/tire and held it at my chest while stepping back on to the scale, the weights above are just the difference of the two scale readings. Probably not the most accurate, but should be close. I thought the difference between a razr and razr2 was more, as I said, I can feel the difference in how the quad revs between the two. Plus, the differnce in weight sure is noticable when you just pick them up off the ground.

Go with 22" Razr in the rear
23" Razr II in the front
    You will not be disappointed

ITP Holeshots = Too many flats in the desert
GBC T-Rex/Kenda Parkers = wear too quickly
Razr II rears = too heavy

I think for just a play machine I'd go with 22" or 21" fronts and 20" rears. I'm assuming your machines are mostly stock so the shorter tire size will corner better and be more stable. And the 300ex and 400ex arent exactly known for lots of power so the lighter weight tires wont rob as much hp.

Razr II fronts and Razr rears or the new Razr XC's front and rear

We're running Kenda Parker's for the National Hare & Hounds. I like that the 22x11x9 6 ply is very light at 17.25 lbs. Plenty tough for the rocks, (with tireballs). Can't vouch for the wear rate as these races are slower and more technical, but brutally rough.
