Ragland Woodstuff single seater restoration
Here is the thread of the build of the Ragland Woodstuff single seater. Bill Hager and his son droped it of to me today. Man is this chassis a beast. I was told by Bill that he heard this car finnished 75-80% of the races it was entered in. I had a 78 Funco SSII back in my youth. This thing is stout. I'll update photos as I get it apart. That may take a little while because I think I'll make sure the hewland tranny fits it correctly before I do the total teardown. I have one found but it may take me a bit before I get it purchased. I would more then apreciate anyones photos or stories they know about this car. I hope to talk to Larry in the next few days to get the history he knows behind it. I did track down and talk to Terry Palmer a few weeks ago and got some history on Chapperal chassis, He said only 4 maybe 5 of this particular car was ever built. My goal is to have this car finnished and bring it to tech and show it at the Mint next year. Then hopefully Norra.

Needs the cardboard body with simulated NACA ducts to be complete. Somebody sabotaged it once at SCORE Riverside. Saw it myself.
Hey! You kids!! Get OFF my driveway!!! If you can't go away happy, just go away!

Cool buggy! I can't wait to see the progress. Is the plan to race NORRA or just show it?

Re: Ragland Woodstuff single seater restoration
Jim Travis in Tucson was the second owner of the Woodstuff car(also the second owner of the Mark Stahl car.) His prep guy and second driver was Ron League. Ron knows a bunch about the car and likely has a specs/part numbers in his "red book" as he refers to it.
I can get you in touch with him, pm or call me at UPR.
The third owner of the car was Brian Kendall of Tucson, very knowledgeable guy. Brian was also John Herders prep guy when he was winning in his Type 4 Jimco.

Not racing this car would be a serious violation of the vintage desert racer code of ethics!
