Axial Racing releases the EXO Terra Buggy as a RTR
I wanted to get one of the EXO's when I first saw the kit come out. But time to build it was always the problem. Now they just released the RTR version. All you need is a battery and charger.

SCALE REALISM AND HIGH PERFORMANCE
The EXO™ Terra Buggy RTR builds on the EXO™ kit version which features a variety of fully licensed, realistic features including a licensed Griffin radiator, licensed Hankook Dynapro MT tires and Raceline Renegade wheels. To meet the demands of today’s performance thirsty drivers, Axial worked with Castle Creations to develop a brushless system that had power and the ability to handle popular 3S Lipo battery packs (*battery not included) for an incredible, high performance experience right out of the box. At the end of the day, that’s what the EXO™ Terra Buggy delivers - durability, superior four wheel drive handling and intense, high performance off road action!

Re: Axial Racing releases the EXO Terra Buggy as a RTR
They are really cool cars! I am on my 2nd one now because my 1st one burned down to th ground.....Hosestly though I would get the kit and just make a little time to work on it here and there. The RTR is lacking alot of the parts the kit comes with. Not to mention a weak drivetrain for the money you would be spending on it.
Here is what it looked like before and after.

Trying to sell my whole Slash set-up to get one of these.
What the deuce happened to the one that burned down? Battery explode?
What kind of motor/radio set up would work best on these kits?

Re: Axial Racing releases the EXO Terra Buggy as a RTR
Cheap Lipo whent up in flames and took the car out! The best motor/esc combo for it is a Tekin RX-8 with a Pro-4. TONS of power and the temps stay really cool! My new one has a Castle Momba pro esc with a Velineion motor and it does pretty good. I have the Tekin set up ready to go in it as soon as the current set up takes a dump. Mike if you get one hit me up! I know all of the weak spots on that car! There is not many but its nice to get them out of the way before hand so you dont have to worry about it later.

What would you recommend changing on the RTR version?

Re: Axial Racing releases the EXO Terra Buggy as a RTR
For starters I personally would add real adjustable camber/steering links, Change out the motor, and esc, servo is low end so I would change that, shocks are te same ones that come in the kit (cap poppers), so I would change those out to some Pro-line powerstrokes. I would also recomend changing out all of the diff ring/pinions to the better steel gears. The cast ones tend to sheer teeth easy under good power. This list goes on depending on what you want to do with it. The outer wheel bearings are tiny so you may want to upgrade those to a better quality bearing as well or just go strait to STRC for there aluminum knuckles. The STRC knuckles use a larger outer bearing. The motor mount can be another issue if you are not carfull with it..Over tighten the set screw and it snaps. GCM makes a nice solid one that is trouble free.
