Cynical A**hole
Re: Chuck Strange.....
R.I.P Chuck.
Gonna miss him. Always willing to talk to anyone about anything and one of the nicest guys I've met.
The races aren't gonna be the same.
Don't bother me. I'm wasting potential.
Life's a grave, dig it.

Re: Chuck Strange.....
So many of my favorite memories had Chuck in the background. There was no one quite like him. Annoying at times, strange always, but kind and generous and a professional adventurer. It just doesn't seem possible he's gone. I'm so bummed.
Curt's story did give me a very big smile, though!

Re: Chuck Strange.....
I was the one who the Riverside Police Dept called at 11:30pm last night to tell me of his passing.
In case you don't know who I am, I was his ex wife. I was with Chuck for more then 10
years. Met him when I was 18. Left him when I was 29. We had some adventures together,
but I was too young when we married. When I got that call, I was told I was the only "kin"
of his they could find. I was shocked, we had been divorced for 12 1/2 years.
I told the police dept of his half brother who lives in Riverside. He's a great guy and will
be handing all the arrangements.
Chuck was one of a kind, that's what attracted me to him in the first place. Our divorce
wasn't pretty. But I gave him everything and walked away with nothing, it's easier that way.
Didn't mean I didn't love him, just ment I had to go.
Was I shocked to get the news, you bet. I was even more shocked on they way he died.
It's not my place to say how it happened and I won't, you will find out soon enough. It
has made me very sad. I was not in contact with him, and didn't know how tough things
were for him. Godspeed Chuck.

Re: Chuck Strange.....
Chuck was day-glo orange in a world of grey.
A few of our conversations started with him telling me "I've got a bone to pick with you..." but he was always kind and generous.
Mr. Strange, you are missed!

Re: Chuck Strange.....
First time I met him I didn't know what to think. The SCORE organization attracks all kinds of people, some of them quite bizarre, so he fit in with all the other madness that happens at a race. The most unique and unforgettable offroad race volunteer I've ever met. At times he was a Yoda of the sport, other times, well, not so much. He said that when he started carving up the Rolls and he needed old parts he took it to an actual RR wrecking yard out near the coast here. The owner was a RR purist, and Chuck's car was an affront to his sensibilities. Chuck's response was that he drove his RR harder than anyone else in the world. For that, I salute you. Rest in Peace SCORE44.
