This race was the inagural event, and the course was held on 100+ SQ/miles of private land. This might be the future of Off-road racing in the Western US. Things did not go as planned but what new, un proven track does?. I am just thankfull to the race teams that made the commitment and started. Northern Nevada thanks you and it is fun to watch you drive.

Re: HDRA El Dorado Fireworks 500 Picks
Congrats to Mike on his win. Haters are going to hate. It happens at every race. Mike went where the officials told him to and ran hard for a win. I am sure the HDRA officials made the best decision they could at the time for the safety of the racers.
If our team was one of the few that did not get diverted I would be pissed too. But as a group we need to stop looking for the things that go wrong. These promotors put a massive amount of time and money into putting these races on so we continue to have a place to run. We need to help these guys out whether it be MORE, SNORE, HDRA, VORA or BITD. Most of the course workers are volunteers and if we beat them up on these forums for their decisions on race day they are not going to volunteer next time. If you don't like the decisions that are being made volunteer to help these organizations out and be part of the solution.

I dont see PAB or anyone else from his team complaining or saying anything negative toward HDRA. I was not there and do not have a dog in the fight but bottom line is the race was changed after the start and was not fair to everyone involved. Congrats to the winners and finishers and most important thanks to Roger and everyone at HDRA. I cant wait to get to one of the HDRA races.

Re: HDRA El Dorado Fireworks 500 Picks
Only one team was screwed out of the diversion, only one.
I was following the race and stated on LiveOnDirt.... "the course workers had better get something done about RM36 in the next hour or RM will be a clusterfawk when TT16 and chasers get there. HDRA Ops had nearly an hour to get things cleared up.... they corrected things for the second vehicle on down the line, BUT they failed miserably with TT16, first on the road, heading for a victory. TT16 went from first on the road to fourth or fifth on the road. Oh, sure, time could be deducted, but the dust and passing factors are way more important than a few minutes of time for charging unlimted vehicles. They had nearly an hour, perhaps more, to prepare for the lead vehicle's arrival at RM36. I understand that there were transportation as well as communication challenges.
I am not hating... just calling it how it went down. I applaud Norman and HDRA for all of their hard word, dedication, etc. My head spins just imagining how much work it is to put on a race, especially one of this magnitude. A mistake was made by HDRA that Team TT16 paid dearly for, and that is it. I look forward to many more great races on this fine piece of land and by this fine organization. Carry on.

Nobody from the TT 16 team is crying. We were around 9 minutes ahead of everyone on corrected time at the end our first lap. We won the HDRA FIREWORKS 100. Lol
Much respect to everyone who finished this race. That was some gnarly terrain.

Re: HDRA El Dorado Fireworks 500 Picks
I'm the guy that talked this race up to Pab and lobbied for the DA to attend and support the HDRA even though I couldn't be there. I feel horrible for the team but as of right now we are fully focused on V2R and any other race that might be fun to do. Onward and upward baby, that's how we roll!

Re: HDRA El Dorado Fireworks 500 Picks
I was at rm 33.7 getting a car turned over, Roger landed and changed the course and we helped change flaggs and "w" markers, Roger stopped all racers and told them the bottleneck is being diverted and to go right up the canyon and stay to the left, and when you hit the track on top of the ridge go right. Also have contact with the propit 5-6 miles down the track and have all of them come back to the junction and procede, that section had been cleared and closed. for 2 hours nobody came back ?????? Why
