goodyear kevlar tires vs. yellow sticker race tires

it figures..nearly everyone who has been running the old goodyear yellow sticker race tires knows what a great tire it is/was so it makes sense that goodyear stopped making them right? it always seems that that's the way things turn out..it doesn't make any sense at all in my opinion. now goodyear has come out with the kevlar tire design that is commercially available. my question is if anyone has been racing using the newer, more aggressive kevlar goodyears and how the performance has been. any input is appreciated but please don't come back pimping bfg's, yoko's or general's because this isn't about who's tires you think are best. there are a lot of threads on that subject already. this is a goodyear question. thanks in advance....BTW. if anyone happens to have a set of "new" 35x15 yellow sticker goodyears laying around that they would sell, please pm me.

Re: goodyear kevlar tires vs. yellow sticker race tires

Tried both versions, but only on CL 1, 10, 1450. Always preferred the semi pattern, they just produced better overall balance on steering, braking and traction. The only time I could not feel a big difference with the aggressive pattern was when they where on the rear of the spt truck, but had to work harder to stay fast on top of the soft stuff. For me I'll be sticking with the semi pattern for both versions.

from what ive heard from teams saw changing tires in the pits and the like, the Kevlar Goodyears are no where near the yellow labels... probably the best non-yellow label is the GSA in a 37. our team ran goodyear for years and when they tried giving us the "new" kevlar MTR we couldnt run them in a race, only qualifying.

yes. i had the 37 inch gsa tires on my prerunner and they're nowhere near as good as the yellows either in my opinion. those yellow label tires were the bomb and it pisses me off that goodyear stopped turning them out.
