Off-road racing prodigy Creed extended his SuperLite points lead from 1 point to 14 points at the previous stop of the LOORRS circuit. Points leader Sheldon Creed is looking to add two more wins at Toyota Silver State Showdown presented by Fox Racing Shox in the highly competitive class. Standing atop the podium both days will mean that he can strengthen his points lead and take a step closer to sealing the deal on the 2012 SuperLite Championship in his rookie year.

After an upset weekend for the team in the Pro Lite class at Glen Helen Raceway, the #74 A.M. Ortega team has made the decision to tear down the truck and rebuild the motor. The Pro Lite will skip out on this stop of the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series in order to be prepped and ready to dominate at the following round in Las Vegas.

Sheldon Creed Takes Round 12 LOORRS SuperLite Win At Silver State Showdown In Reno
OCC driver Sheldon Creed wins Silver State Showdown in his #74 SuperLite truck at the newly built LOORRS track near Reno, Nevada.

CORONA, CALIF., August 30, 2012 - On a hillside in Western Nevada, the young Sheldon Creed took to the all-new Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series' (LOORRS) track and dominated Wild West-style just outside of downtown Reno, Nevada in its twin city Sparks. The freshly built grandstands were filled to capacity leaving numerous race fans lining the chain-link, barrier fencing below. Even with the hot weather and dusty winds, the Silver State Showdown brought out a great turnout with over 12,000 race fans at Round 11 & 12 at this first-time destination of the series.

On Saturday at Round 11, Sheldon qualified earlier on Saturday in 1st place and drew a 6th place starting position for the SuperLite main event. Starting in 6th, Creed worked the field one driver at a time and moved into 1st place by lap seven. Soon after attaining the premier position, an untimely mishap happened as the timing belt shredded apart, shot off and took out the crankshaft trigger wire killing the motor, which ended Creed's race earlier than he and the team would have liked.

On Sunday, 14-year-old driver and points leader Creed qualified 1st in the #74 Super Lite, but knew going into Round 12 that he wanted to stay out of trouble and stay ahead of the competition. A.M. Ortega's #74 Sheldon Creed proved that he is able to apply his racing skills to any track in a rapid manner when he pulled out of his 4th place starting position, away from the field of SuperLite drivers and led the race to the checkered flag on Sunday.

The #74 A.M. Ortega Pro Lite team made a decision going into the Reno LOORRS race that the truck would remain in the shop in order to be fully prepped and ready to dominate at the Las Vegas rounds. A big thanks goes out to Ryan Hagy and the Papa's and Beer crew for offering and allowing Sheldon to race the Pro Lite truck on Sunday at Round 12. Sheldon Creed started in 22nd position piloting Ryan Hagy's Pro Lite truck, moved into a promising 9th place position, then Creed hooked up in a rut sending him into barrel roll during the last lap of the Pro Lite race.

Off-road racing prodigy Sheldon Creed and team will be up-shifting and preparing for Rounds 13 & 14 in Las Vegas, Nevada during the three week Series break. Stay tuned, we will be sure to update on points standings when they become available.

Sheldon Creed Storms Into LOORRS Las Vegas Fighting Hard To Seal The 2012 SuperLite Championship In His Rookie Year
OCC Racing's Sheldon Creed leads the 2012 SuperLite points championship and is looking for a double win under the lights of Las Vegas Motor Speedway at the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series this weekend.
    —PRESS RELEASE—

CORONA, CALIF., September 20, 2012 - Arriving in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for Round 13 & 14 of LOORRS (Lucas Oil Off-Road Series), the young Sheldon Creed is focused on a double victory atop the SuperLite podium at this weekend's night race. In his debut LOORRS race weekend last year, it was 14-year-old Creed who climbed to the top of the SuperLite podium during Round 14. Since then, Sheldon Creed has been dominating the SuperLite class and currently leads the 2012 SuperLite Championship by 13 points.

    Photo: Bryant Lambert

The #74 SuperLite driver will battle it out among a class of experienced racers just north of the Las Vegas strip and Fremont Street this Friday, September 21st & Saturday, September 22nd—gates open to the public at 4pm, racing starts at 6pm. Well-versed for his age, Sheldon has centered his attention on strengthening his points lead. At Creed's advantage, this race destination is one that he favors and knows that he is able to win at. The track offers a mixture of fast and technical sections, which is just what Creed would have ordered up for his driving style if he had designed it himself.

Sheldon's father Scott Creed is happy to report, "Sheldon is maintaining a 3.2 GPA in his freshmen year of high school at Steel Canyon while consistently leading the 2012 points championship in SuperLite. We're proud of him." When the #74 driver is not in school or testing the race trucks, he is training on his motorcycle at RP Motocross Track. Riding helps keep Sheldon knowledgeable in the dirt reading lines outside of race day.

The A.M. Ortega Pro Lite will not be making the journey to Las Vegas, the team has been putting in a lot of hours to ensure that the truck will be perfect for Creed. Scott Creed says, "We've moved everything around; we're moved the radiator up behind Sheldon and we've also moved the tranny and the re-build motor. Sheldon will be testing the truck at the upcoming Lucas Oil Regional Off-Road Race Series in Arizona this October." With lots of hard work and perseverance from the crew, they plan to have the Pro Lite racing for the Challenge Cup at next and final stop of the 2012 LOORRS race circuit in Firebird, Arizona.

Sheldon Creed Lights Up Las Vegas Motor Speedway at LOORRS Round 13 & 14
OCC Racing's SuperLite driver takes home the first night win followed by an uproar during the second night and still manages to extend points lead in the SuperLite Championship.
    —PRESS RELEASE—

CORONA, CALIF., October 2, 2012 - Last week in Las Vegas, Nevada, 14 year-old driver Sheldon Creed dominated the field both nights and came home with a win and an upset in the SuperLite class at the Lucas Oil Off-Road Race Series (LOORRS). The points have settled and Creed has extended his SuperLite Championship lead by 20 points after a stunning performance under the lights of Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Friday, September 21st and Saturday, September, 22nd.

    Photo: Bryant Lambert

During Friday night's Round 13, it was not long before the points leader Sheldon Creed was in contention for the checkered-flag win. Sheldon Creed dominated the SuperLite lineup after passing Johnson for the lead on lap two. The #74 A.M. Ortega SuperLite driver pulled away from the competition giving him an ample lead over second position before the Competition Yellow. Following the re-stacked lineup and another restart from a full course caution, Creed held his own and lengthened the gap between first and second once again. When the checkers came out, it was Sheldon Creed that stood at the top of the podium for his seventh time this season; proving he is one of the most consistent drivers in the series and the most consistent driver in his class.

The green flag flew up in the night sky for the SuperLite class at Round 14 and once again it was Sheldon Creed taking to the lead, within the first lap. Creed was looking to make the night another victorious one and take another step closer in hopes of clinching the 2012 SuperLite Championship. The race looked promising as Creed once again pulled away from the other drivers with a 2.123-second lead. The Competition Yellow gathered the drivers to a group, runner-up in points Britt had jumped the line and rear-ended Creed on the restart. After a bad restart, race officials called for second restart. Upon that restart, Dustin Jones had a bad wreck sending the race into limbo once again and giving race officials reason to demand a green-white-checkers finish. Upon the white flag, officials held out a black flag that they assigned to Creed for allegedly "jumping two of the restarts" in which he led earlier in the night. Knowing he could not fight the black flag penalty at the time of the race, Creed was forced to serve it so he could still receive points for the night's race. The penalty moved Creed from the lead to the back of the pack and Sheldon managed to put the #74 SuperLite truck into a eighth place finish in the lineup.

    Photo: Bryant Lambert

Going into the Las Vegas round of the LOORRS series, Eibach Springs put all new springs and Fox Shox rebuilt the shocks. Reflecting on this weekend and the handling of the SuperLite, Sheldon Creed says "The truck handles so well that I could put it wherever I wanted." The A.M. Ortega team is looking forward to the next and final round at Firebird Raceway in Chandler, Arizona on October 27, 2012. Prior to that race, Sheldon is scheduled put his skills to practice at the Lucas Oil Arizona Regional race in his freshly revamped A.M. Ortega #74 Pro Lite race truck.

OCC Racing's Sheldon Creed Takes The 2012 SuperLite Championship Home at LOORRS Round 15 in Arizona
    —PRESS RELEASE—

CORONA, CALIF., November 28, 2012 - At 15-years-old, Sheldon Creed is the the youngest competitor ever to win the SuperLite Championship title. This weekend at Firebird Raceway, Sheldon took to the track and with a fifth place finish, he was named the SuperLite Champion of 2012. Following the final round was the Lucas Oil Challenge Cup, a one-off money race for the class, which was no surprise when the checkered flag waved and it was the newly plated #1 A.M. Ortega SuperLite race truck of Sheldon Creed atop the podium. The team is looking forward to a promising 2013 year in the premier Pro Lite class.

    Photo: Bryant Lambert

Entering the opening lap of final LOORRS round, #74 points leader Sheldon Creed came out of the first turn in second place and held it all the way until the Competition Yellow. On last lap, Creed's competitors piled into him forcing him on the outside line in turn three. After chaos cleared, Creed was able to make an honest push for fifth place. The runner up in points was a lap behind putting less pressure on Sheldon, who continued on to the season finale checkered flag. With a fifth place finish and a great season track record, it was no surprise that Sheldon Creed was the one who claimed the 2012 SuperLite Championship in the Lucas Oil Off-Road Race Series.

    Photo: Bryant Lambert

Firebird would also play host to the LOORRS Challenge Cup where the winner of the SuperLite money race would be taking home $6,000. An eager, newly titled SuperLite Champion Sheldon Creed was ready to take the field of drivers that were ready to strike for the prize money. Sheldon went out to give a preview to the fans what to expect of him in the upcoming 2013 year.

Off the green flag start, Sheldon held fourth in class and he was not having it. Runner up in points Drew Britt briefly made contact with Creed following Johnson's get-off when exiting the Lucas Oil jump during lap two. When Radhers attempted to challenge the premiere position, Creed and Radhers made contact mid-air resulting with Radhers barrel rolling upon his coarse landing and another full course caution. On the restart lap, Creed led the pack of SuperLite drivers. With the checkers in sight, Creed sealed the Challenge Cup with his eighth win of the year making him the one of the most winningest LOORRS driver this season. Along with bragging rights from the Challenge Cup came a $6,000 check with Sheldon's name on it.

In 2013, Sheldon Creed and team will be solely focused on racing the professional Pro Lite class in the Lucas Oil Off-Road Race Series. Sheldon's father Scott Creed looks forward to the upcoming race year, "We're really focused on next year running the Pro Lite and charging for another Championship win in the Lucas Oil Off-Road Race Series."

The hard-charging Sheldon Creed talks about racing and beyond, "Racing is a part of my life, I love every minute of it and am ready to take on a new field of well-seasoned drivers. I can't wait to see where I stack up and am ready to work hard to earn that Pro class title in 2013."
