Not true... These engines have sensors on what comes into the engine "MAF" and what is coming out of the engine "O2". This is how all these stock cars like a Corvette get to install aftermarket headers and intakes. The computer compensates for the change. As the change is not that drastic.

I asked Casey to put in the rule "Pump Gas" He said he does not want to deal with it. Either way it does not matter with a sealed engine and ECU as running to much octain will burn to slow and you will lose power and running to little octane will burn to fast and you will hurt the engine. Thes engines will run best on 91 octane. No advantage with race gas...

You are correct. Heck I do not think 20hp would make a big difference...

Cutting off a engine seal with a serial number and replacing it undetected is hard to do.
Because they will not be racing one of these trucks... haha Or they are afraid these trucks might just go faster than they think!

Hey Jerry what are you going to do when you put your TT Lite on the chassis dyno and you see there is only 235hp to the rear wheels? Post the dyno sheet when you get it done.

Fly, a little off topic but how much HP do you think such a motor is making at the crank?
Just walk away. I will give you safe passage in the Wasteland. Just walk away and there will be an end to the horror. I await your answer.----The Lord Humongous

That really don't matter in this class... The convertor is what you want to make sure is bad ass... You can also lighten drums, planets the steels between the frictions. The steels in the drums can be Ti and that reduces rotating mass. Also when you do a high stall ....sure it seems faster out of the hole but on these low powered POS you lose a ton of effective power and build heat while it's slipping at 3K. Run a low gear 1/2 planet and you can get away with a lot less stall.

Well if GM gave an SAE rating at 400 or so then I would expect it to be within 5% of that.

Re: New score super 8 class

Thanks, I just don't really know how much power loss there is between the crank and the wheels with the big tires, etc. My pre runner puts down just under 230 with 37s and 4.56s but I really have no idea how that compares to advertised HP in other vehicles.
