Re: What the "F" A.J. almendinger
Does anyone know what exactly they found? The only thing I read was that he had a "stimulant" but nothing specific

Amphetamine's. Allmendinger's business manager, Tara Ragan, said the driver still was awaiting information from testing to determine the cause of his positive test. Ragan said the positive test wasn't a result of cocaine, methamphetamine or Ecstasy.
"While we await further information from testing to determine the cause (of the positive test), we have notified NASCAR that AJ will participate in the Road to Recovery program starting immediately," Ragan said. "As we have stated earlier, we respect NASCAR's drug testing policies. They are first and foremost in place to protect drivers and AJ being among those.
Ragan said the hope is Dr. David Black, who runs Aegis Sciences Corporation in Nashville, Tenn., which tested Allmendinger's "A" and "B" urine samples, will help clarify that Thursday when Allmendinger talks to him to be assigned a health care facility for assessment.
Meanwhile, Ragan said there are plans to have Allmendinger tested again by an independent laboratory to see whether amphetamines still show up in his system.
Brand names of medications that contain or metabolize into amphetamines include Adderall, Dexedrine, Dextrostat, Desoxyn, Didrex, ProCentra and Vyvanse. Allmendinger has said through Ragan that the positive test was a stimulant that could have been the result of a supplement or over-the-counter drug he was using.

AJ is kind of a health nut, no? I just don't see him doing it on purpose. Hell.. the Mucinex I buy for my sinus infections has some kind of drug in it they crunch up and put in meth. I have to show my ID just to purchase it.

All the more reason to stay off of ANY stimulating drink as a tested professional. Who knows what a Red Bull and a 4 hour looks like in a test when you top it off with a Speed or two? These clowns could be digging their own grave.

bummer... after he had the race of his life winning 24hrs of daytona. He schooled the field of ultra talented drivers. Met him when wed did a FORD project with him. He was a really nice guy. Probably just a cough medicine.

Thats all you need to read right there. He was hyped on an illegal substance and, through repsect for a car owner, NASCAR isn't going to release any more info. AJ will be back racing again, after a year being clean. Unless he pulls a Methfield. Young, dumb, and full of cash is usually the cause of this 5hit. Maybe NASCAR should have required classes like the NFL does about how to try and be responsible with your image now that youare making millions.

He's done on the cup side. There is no way in hell any team is going to sign him. Nascar is a business first, a sport second. You think Joe Gibbs is going to bet a 30 million dollar deal with Home Depot on a guy who popped positive? The only way I see him coming back to "Nascar" is if he shows up at a nationwide/craftsman team and pay's A LOT of money to sit in that seat.

I bet they let him back in. All sports do that. You can't f up bad enough to get permanantly banned from any sport. Mike Tyson did everything he could wrong and they still let him back in the ring. I mean he broke almost every law there is! assault, substance abuse, DUI, rape, eating people's ears, and still they let him back. Michael Vick and the NFL, etc..... They always let them back in if it increases the draw.
