    Vinyl wrap

How much (ballpark) does it cost to wrap a typical single cab, fiberglass fender, door slammer desert truck? Nothing fancy, just a plain or patterned wrap, no sponsor logos, custom designs etc.

I have and they have been very vague or they want me to bring my truck in (which I can't do because its in pieces). I did have one guy stop by and his estimate was $2200. I'm asking the question here to see whether that is reasonable. I'm sure somebody here has gotten their truck wrapped before.

I wrapped my dirt late model myself was not hard to do the wrap cost $800 for anything I could imagine, unlimited color, design or sponsor logos.
Check out the internet for vendors, my wrap was made in Arkansas by optima they had a template you designed before production the wrap took 6 hrs. to apply by a rookie and came out good
As usual if you shop off road it cost more check out the circle track world for more reasonable pricing

This is on a 5U.... I was able to get mine done in Austin for 300 bucks. We have a very simple two tone wrap that's spiced up with stickers that I ordered from Harris decals. Harris is killer!! The wraper had the low down on the car and how we did not need perfection since it was just going to get dirty and torn up. The final product had some blemishes but as a whole it was spot on. He even gave me some wrap to make repairs.

    Re: Vinyl wrap

If your quote included printing and application, for the size of your vehicle, it sounds like a small block of design time is included... a small amount. The vagueness comes from time associated with design. Even if it seems "simple", they still need to design the template pattern, bleed over, seam placement and any obstacles in the way. After that, prices can go much higher depending on what type of vector art that needs to be done: graphics, logos, pictures, etc. Designers will have the knowledge in determining if elements should be included in the base graphic or done separately and "stacked" onto the graphic.

More times than not, the printing and application costs are pretty basic...it is in the "design" time when prices can change dramatically. There are web sites that sell generic or stock decals that you make fit but anything custom will come with a price.

SignPros has always been great in any printing or application needs that I have had. As far as designing goes, there are many on this site that have pretty impressive portfolios.

Desert Guy is correct. He's obviouisly been involved with it as I have with Patricks, they do all my stuff. Design time is the issue.

Well the design is just going to be digital desert camo. I understand that a file needs to be massaged so that it doesn't appear as a repeating pattern when applied but how many man hours does that take? In my mind its an hour or two for design, four hours maybe to apply the wrap, plus the material and printing.

I like the digital camo idea. What colors?
