Give 1/2 to the person who had the fastest lap on the first lap when everyone did the same mileage, then give the other 1/2 to the person who had the fastest lap on the "shortened" laps. That seems the fair way to me.
Fa$t Ca$h should go to the fastest car/truck on the longest lap.

I think they screwed up. They should give the award to the fastes lap of the original race course or at least split the $ between short and long course.

Even though there's an argument on both sides, I agree with Cam, they had the fastest lap around the real lap so they deserve it...

I also agree fastest long lap. Cam should get fastest lap.
Just a question but what was the average speed of Cams fastest long lap compared to the fastest short lap? Even though the longer lap was a slower average because of being way harder.

Ya thats why I was saying they should split it. Because there is always the "what if" factor that Mitchel might have beat their fast lap on the regular course on one of his other laps also. Unlikely but you never know.

They should just give the money to me so neither one of them will have a tainted fast lap title.

of course the fast lap money goes to the guy with the FASTEST lap of the ADVERTISED distance, not a mid-race shortened lap due to weather, blm, poor track planning or whatever.........DUH.....you cant cut 10% of the distance and be fast lap........that would be NONSENCE....

What keeps a guy from pushing his car past the limit for one lap at well above race pace and putting it on the trailer just to collect the dough and the trophy. There is something to be said for awarding it to someone who completed the race.

Fast lap should be rated off of the lap that everyone had to do. A shortened lap mid race is not an accurate assessment of a fast lap as compared to the other competitors.

Irrelevant in my opinion. It doesn't say fastest lap only to the finishers. It says fastest lap. You could argue and say that the fastest lap is the shortened one. But that's not what the race was advertised as. We had the fastest lap on the advertised mileage, per what is stated as prize money. Besides, if a guy can push it "past" the limit and not knock a tire of the car or go off course just to set fast lap.... That's just called being a bad azz motherfkcer and he would deserve the prize.
