Just so we are 100% clear...... Josh was driving and did a great job with the fast lap. Mark and Mike did a great job winning the race, kudos. I have NEVER heard of a fast lap predicated by finishing a race.

We went to Reno to win while supporting those making something happen for our sport and it sounded fun. Much of the event was really cool and we did have some fun.

There was a ton of uncertainty going on at the time of my decision so it seemed best and safest to save the truck for another day.

No. Most series you get starting points and position points. Meaning the longer you last in the race the more points you receive. Even in a DNF you still get a certain amount of points and receive a position. Different series give you points for different things. For instance, SNORE even has a certain amount of volunteer points that you can have awarded to you by someone who has volunteered for the series.

In BITD and SNORE, there is a throw away race. This is for those that make every race but have one bad race. So a points champion may finish ever race and get it taken away by someone who has done better every race except had on bad race. Im not familiar with how HDRA points system or how they are awarded.

Damn near everything is drama these days. Everything from politics, religion, and tv; straight down to desert racing. If its not grown men arguing on the Internet, it's grown men (and women) arguing about health care in congress. It's ALWAYS something!!! I usually try to stay out of it. Don't discuss religion, politics, or desert racing in mixed company!! Hahah

In professionsl surfing, ASP, surfers have 10 events and 1 throw away, thats how Kelly won several world championships. Points for entering, each round is worth more points. NBA, MLB, NFL, all games count. HDRA needs to have all of this in writing prior to the start or any GOD caused storm or whatever, In writing. If you want to be a pro event, for racers by racers, a written rule book of competition must be followed by all, always.

#16 should get the $2000 for fast lap on the original GPS map for the field of racers. Congrats to MM for the overall, well deserved and hard fought win!
