Re: Chuck Strange "SCORE 44" Donation and Service Info
Big two thumbs up for the two aforementioned generous contributors!
It has now been two weeks ago that I woke up and got word that Chuck was gone. I just finished reading the whole article in the March 12, 1979 issue of Sports Illustrated, on Chuck's stunt life to that point. It makes me upset that I did not spend more time asking Chuck about his uniquely spectacular stunt life.... I want to ask him questions and compliment him on his accomplishments. He might have mentioned, but never showed me this article... the Chuck that I knew was very low key.. did not brag or boast about his past. I am mad at him for not for not sharing more, and disappointed at myself for not asking more questions and digging deeper. I am glad people are stepping up and continuing to pay tribute to this unique individual.... not many people like him come around very often. RIP Chuck Strange.

With all due respect to Chuck I feel Fast-Aid funds should be spent on people who are involved in "accidents".
If people want to buy stickers and donate directly to the Chuck fund that Jaime set up then thats awesome. I just dont think Fast-Aid should be involved in this one.

Just my .02
To be clear, especially since I am on the board at fast-aid, the sticker thing I set up with SDHQ was completely outside of our non profit. On the day the news about chuck went public i was contacted by a few people who asked if we had anything going to help. Rather than wait and see if anyone was going to come up with something, i just decided since i had the connections and capabilities to do something, i would. I couldnt have done it without help though.
SDHQ has done all the hard parts and absorbed the cost for doing so. They paid for the vinyl, they paid for the guy to cut them and wik out the cuts and mask them, they are paying to host them on their website and paid the guy to modify the website to set that up, and they are paying the guy who has to deal will filling the orders too. They are cool people to work for and I am regularly impressed with their charitable generosity. I made one phone call and without hesitation they the green lighted the project. By the end of that day I was holding the first sticker in my hand. All I did was get them the artwork (and forum member JoMaoma did that for me on a moments notice. I was also a bit of a pain in the but about the design but hes a cool dude and did it anyway.)
Tim at sign pros also helped us sort out some of this stuff too.

A quick update on the service: The Vanillos have graciously given their blessing to have the service at the Lucas Oil Glen Helen race next weekend (Aug 3-5). I am working with Chappy on the day/time, but it is looking like either Friday night after qualifying or Saturday before the race, as the LOORS races are at night. I should have the definites by this evening posted here and on FB.
Also, I want to truly thank everyone who has donated. We are able to cover the costs of cremation and the service!

Re: Chuck Strange "SCORE 44" Donation and Service Info
Service will be: Friday Night at 7PM
GlenHelen Raceway
VIP tent outside of turn 1
I would suggest arriving at 6pm to give yourself time to find parking. Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series has been kind enough to donate the use of their facility and are even waving the gate fee for individuals arriving after 6pm for the service.
