Vegas to reno course
Vegas to reno course change every year or does bitd change it up?? Pit locations too? I could only find a 2007 course map on the net and was wondering if it has been the same since? First time at this race and helping pit this year and just wanted to do some homework before we head up there. What would be some good pointers for the crew? Thanks for the advice.

Re: Vegas to reno course
From the BITD site:
1st draft and preliminary mileage, the race course is subject to revision and waiting for approval by BLM. You can start to make your race plan and logistics off of this mileage, it will remain very close. The Pit Names are not on this chart and will be announced on July 25th. Good luck and have fun planning your strategy!

Re: Vegas to reno course
I have done it the last 2 years and it has been fairly close to the same. But that is all subject to BLM and decision they make.

Re: Vegas to reno course
The course has changed quite a bit since '07. I believe the '07 course started in Johnny, just northwest of Pahrump, and went through the Amorgossa valley. The last few years, not counting the '09 three day race, the course has remaind pretty much the same, with a few minor variations. The recent courses have started in Beatty, and hasn't changed much if any, as I've worked the same check point 4 of the last 5 years at around mile 30. Expect a lot of rocks leaving Pit 1 for about 5 miles, then a 15 mile long X 1/4 mile wide silt bed before you get to Bonnie Claire.

I have maps from 08, 10 and 11, give me your email and I'll send them to you.
Better yet, do a search for my posts, I'm sure I've put them up here on RDC at some point in the past.
See you at contingency!
