Chrome moly tubing
Howdy all,
Just a quick question. Just wondering... why does everyone over in the US clean the skin off of the end of the tube before its welded. I dont see it very often down here so was curious.

Best practices. All metal needs to be cleaned before welding to keep welds clean.

Cleaning off the mill scale for a cleaner weld. Keeps the tungsten cleaner also.

When your life is on the line every little thing you can do to increase the integrity of structure protecting is worth the extra minute to clean the mill scale off. . .that's for sure!
