Compared to what the setup is now Aero wise they would both have benefits. But the two helmet deal with a smooth top is MUCH better than a windshield because unless you run side windows and a sloped tail section the windshield creates a pretty significant negative pressure zone directly behind it and it will actually suck air into that zone from the side windows and back window. But it will divert more of the air over the open passenger compartment. Then when you factor in the extra weight and systems (Defogger, wipers) required to run a windshield it pretty much settles at what they run now. Windshield would be good for a few extra mile an hour over 90mph. (But then it might also suck the roof off)
You can see the vacuum (white dots) So just consider that dirt and exhaust fumes. LOL

And everyone thought those number plates where to hold stickers? Look at the A-Pilar interaction with the trailing edge of the fender.

Notice the light bar is moved way back?

Looks like the air moving across the top of the roof helps clean up the air under the light. But it could have also been there to help with weight balance.

Just add more horsepower...
Aerodynamics are for people who can't build engines.

But it was said in Italian so it sounded even more ignorant in person. LOL

Since the subject is "aero", I looked these up in an old scarapbook. Both photo's of the Mickey Thompson Challenger, appear to have different wings. One photo was taken downtown Vegas at Contingency for the 1977 Mint 400. The other photo was taken in the pits of the Riverside Off Road World Championships in 1978. Wings were very common in the late 70's.

Mickey ran land speed. He knew about aero. Look at the shroud around the driver compartment.
