Re: Coming soon.
Best of luck to you Dave...it looks like a perfect NORRA GT Mexican 1000 truck for the future. Just take your time, do it correctly the first time and have fun....

Re: Coming soon.
Was this truck in the video Rockbusters with the football player as the narrator or is in some other video?

Nissan made 3 or 4 videos in the early 80's with the Roger Mears Nissan team. The first was about the first Vegas to Reno race and then several after that.

Re: Coming soon.
This isn't the same truck from the Rock Busters video, but when Dave is done with it, it will look pretty close. This was originally a Nissan Cup truck. Back in the early 1980s, Nissan offered a spec race truck program based on their 4x4 pick-ups and a select group of parts suppliers and retailers. You could get the pick-up and with specified parts, put together a race truck for the Nissan Cup to race in. Desert Steel, Goodyear, KC Lights, etc...all offered the parts that qualified for the series. They would get 10-12 trucks per race in HDRA. Jim Conner offered complete race trucks for the class as well as sold all the safety parts and suspension parts if you wanted to build your own. The trucks were basically 7s trucks, but it was a 1 make class with a separate purse and prizes for the end of the season. They were pretty cool trucks and with the exception of the fuel cells, were pretty much street legal. There were couple running around Socal on the streets throughout the 1990s. Didn't you find this one in Fallbrook Dave?
