Re: 35's or 37s?
Alright, next time I'll know something like this for the shop.
And I know I won't be racig across the desert, I don't need LT. I'm in south Carolina if y'all didn't know we don't have deserts. But when I move across the country in a few years I'll have more money and get it.
Honestly I like Toyo open country m/Ts but every redneck around here has them so I'm trying to think of something else. But if I go 37s I might.
And keyboard warriors, what do you mean by pull my head out of my a$$?
Cause I don't have LT? And I like the look and want bigger tires without a insane lift that's why I'm going this route.

The problem is you are posting in the desert section not the shop section so pull your head out of your ass.

Re: 35's or 37s?
Everyone likes the performance look that fiberglass fenders provide. The resistance your getting here is that when you just "lift" a truck you really arent adding performance. You obviously know that a LT set up is the way to go for high speed bombing and that a lift and spacers will sorta get ya the prerunner look but they arent the real way to go. Big offset wheels and spacers will widen your stance but they will make things like bearings fail prematurely because they stress them. All the lift will do is let you have better ground clearance and give you the ability to stuff bigger tires under your rig. the fenders prolly wont even be necessary performance wise. they are a pain to mount too and if you care about how well the paint is on them, expect an expansive bill from your paint and body shop.
With bigger tires you change the way your gearing performs so you will wanna change your gears too.
Brakes will matter also. most of what brakes do is stop the rotational force of the wheel. you willl need bigger brakes for good stopping power. Stopping is important and the aftermarket for big brakes is expensive. Rol a golf ball across your drive way and try and stop it by just using one finger. then do the same with a basket ball. that should help explain the rotational force brakes work against. just a slight increase in tire size is a big deal. but lots of people go with big tires and factory brakes. its just not the prefered way to do it and can be dangerous.
its easy for us to tell you what to do when we are spending your money.
Almost all the mods are at rally school today. i bet they will move the thread to the shop section when they return.

Re: 35's or 37s?
Thanks Dan. I appreciate that, gonna do all that. And I know a guy that only paints show cars for about 5k but he paints friends for only 1k.
I understand if y'all are getting annoyed with posers but that's not what I'm aiming for. Besides most people in SC don't even know what a Pre-runner is

theres a long runnig joke on desert race forums about the guys who build trucks with fancy front kits and put fiber glass on them and never paint the fenders or do the suspension work to the rear to keep up with the front. it has always been that way and will always be that way.
Im on some other truck forums and see fiberglassed trucks in some strange places. they look cool in my opinion even if the body work was unnesessary. Chicks dig it and it will get you laid but then one day a desert racer will show up and take your girlfriend for a ride in his legit truck and then she will be gone forever. But, she was a whore any way so dont let it bother you.
