What i need to race?
My plan is to start racing D38 this year starting in Sept. I wanna race my yz250f but want to start getting a list together on what i need.
I know I need AMA membership, and a d38 membership? Is there anything else i need to do for each race vendor just to get signed up for a race?
What is some good things to have with me when i go race, like important things to carry on me while racing and what to have back at the pit area.
Would a stock 2003 Yz250f gas tank be enough for these races? or should I invest in a desert tank?
Anything else i should take note of before starting this season? Any help with be grateful
Who all will be down there at the races this year
So i can stop in and say hi.

Send me a pm and we can get together and go over things. I can help you prep your bike and answer any questions. I have the same bike and am a member of I8 dezert racers. We put on races down there and we can help you pit and do everything. What area do you live in? Email me at [email protected]

I have raced D-38 since 2007. A little tool bag is helpful. You will not need a desert tank unless you like the extra weight. Most races are 12-30 mile loop and usually around 100-130 miles total with some exceptions. A truck is also nice just in case you have to head into the void for retreval.
Good Luck,

Re: What i need to race?
Thanks everyone I will get in contact with you guys soon. Last weekend however I went to McCain valley and crashed pretty hard and had to get flown back to sandiego. I have short term memory loss and they said when I crashed I had a small seizure. I'm doing better and can't wait to get back on the bike. They said my helmet flew off when I hit the ground? I will keep you guys updated and still hope to race this season!

Re: What i need to race?
Sorry to hear of your accident, hope your feeling better soon and able to ride. Go ahead and send me your email address and I will send you the forms to fill out so we can start the process of getting you signed up. If you are under 18 there are a couple of extra forms that you will need to get taken care of to race, don't wait until the last minute.
