Pump Gas / Vapor Lock / Vegas to Reno
For those of you who raced last years Vegas to Reno race ... some will remember quite a few race vehicles out there broken down on the course. We've had a lot of phone calls speaking about engines vapor locking due to the high temps in the desert. This is due to the reid vapor pressure (RVP) of regular 91 pump gas.
We have been working with different teams and have decided to offer VP's MS93 at a discounted price for this years Vegas to Reno race. We will be selling it for $7.75/gal + taxes.
Before anyone starts speaking to me about the higher price of this fuel vs the station on the corner ... let's think about the difference. This is a racing fuel, a much better and more consistant fuel than anything offered at the local pump. It is ethanol free. It has an RVP almost 50% lower than pump gas, this means it will create the same horsepower at higher temps.
So you should ask yourself ... how much money do I have invested into this race (prep/entry/hotels/food/travel/days off work/etc)? Do I want to chance throwing it all away by using cheap fuel in my race vehicle?
Please look at the specs on the link below ... I think most will agree that this might be a smarter option than using regular 91 pump gas.

Re: Pump Gas / Vapor Lock / Vegas to Reno
For those of you that I've already spoken to about this ... thanks, no need to call back.
For everyone else, we are putting load lists together by tomorrow at this time to make sure product is in Vegas on time ... please let me know ASAP if you want to order. This is a time sensitive matter and we will only be bringing so much extra on trucks. It will be first come first serve on any non-preordered fuel after trucks leave yard.
We already have 3 tractor trailers being loaded for this race ... please help us by calling as soon as you can.
Thanks,
BB

Re: Pump Gas / Vapor Lock / Vegas to Reno
Oh ... also, just for the record ... normal pricing for MS93 is $11.15/gal in a drum.
Just want everyone to see how we (as racers) understand the high cost of racing and are trying to help everyone out. Bruce Hendel from VP and myself have worked out this special pricing by taking out profit margins and applying other funding to make this happen for the BITD racers.
Thanks & good luck to everyone out there.

Re: Pump Gas / Vapor Lock / Vegas to Reno
I just got off the phone with Bruce Hendel of VP, he states that the website is old data and has not been updated yet (old formula). He verified with their chemist that the spec flyer was 100% correct prior to sending it over to me to post.
Any questions, please feel free to call the VP Office at (951) 696-5100 or Bruce Hendel (VP's Western Regional Mgr) direct at (909) 322-0737 on his cell.
Thanks,
BB

...long range weather forecast isn't that hot, but the low RVP gas is cheap insurance.
