No, I'm not saying SCORE is perfect by any stretch, in fact I have been quite vocal on these boards about some of their policies (and lack thereof) that are terrible. But the FACT is that SCORE abandoned Primm and did the SF race because Primm became too expensive and difficult to do. So like lots of other companies, they went across the border where it is cheaper and easier to get stuff done.

Are we really debating the fact that lots of businesses are doing their business overseas because it is cheaper and easier and less litigious than trying to operate here at home?

I'm not sure what we are debating. First you said that Sal was leaving the US because it is too hard to put on a race here. Then you said that races in the US are boring. Now you are back to saying that it is too hard to put on a race here, but BITD, HDRA, VORRA, SNORE, and BOR do it, so why can't the world's premier desert racing organization? Because Sal GDAF anymore, that is why.

Harry, Casey's reaction to ever increasing regulation is to modify how he runs races. Sal's reaction was to quit racing in the states.

An analogy would be that when the government comes into an ohv area and imposes restrictions on riding, some people will conform to the new restrictions and putz around at 20mph so they don't get a ticket, while others will choose to find a different place to ride. Just because some people stick around doesn't mean that the restrictions are no big deal.

I think the 2013 race schedule is also related to an overheard conversation between S. Fish and Ampudia Sr. at his last visit to La Paz where he (Sal) stated that this will be his last Baja 1000 to La Paz or BCS He's basically burned out and sick (cancer) and the whole org will be sold after next year to the soda salesman in the orange vehicle that get often disqualified - I guess when he owns it he can do donuts as much as he wants.....

If the above fact is true then there could be big changes coming soon, probably some that have been in the works for a while, either way bottom line is that SCORE needs a make over lots of unsatisfied customers.

I think the market segment that SCORE has been catering to is more than satisfied. They are happy to let those less satisfied racer, race with lesser organizations.

Guess you'll have to come out to SNORE's Rage at the River in December to enjoy Laughlin now.

Well, he in in NorCal and the only reason his team came out was because they were in it for the points every year. Sadly, I probably will not see him out this way anytime soon.
