I would think that if SCORE is really for sale, Rodger would have made a run at it.

Why, you think they built them to only race Laughlin? Besides, everyone will be moving to the SCORE motor rules sooner or later. SCORE Racers race SCORE because of Baja!

But the last three or four years every year there's been less races and less races in this SCORE series that to me sounds like the beginning of the end. There also might be too many promoters nowadays and hard for SCORE to compete in the US. But I think SCORE has to will take a look at off-road racing has been evolving and may need to evolve along with it, and I don't think they have been. BITD has made great strides in a last couple years and in my personal opinion is the best racing series well-organized very racer friendly and a lot of fun. Casey seems to be doing it right, and Sal seems to be losing control. So I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think I am I think SCOREs days as number one are numbered.
I couldn't agree more with you... I love SCORE but it sure seems like the beginning of the end. A few years ago SCORE's scheduled featured 6 different events, 3 in the US and 3 in Mexico; they dropped one US event, ok no big deal, just this year they dropped another and next year yet one event more will be gone. I don't think those are good news, I mean, it indicates that something bad is going on.
Just in 2007 the Baja 500 gathered almost 500 entries including two Race Touareg 2's, RG's Hummer H3 and 40+ Trophy Trucks; it was also the last time the course went up Mike's Sky Ranch and ever since then the Baja 500 has been run on the same old course with few changes. In 2007 we celebrated the 40th Anniversary of the Baja 1000 which was AMAZING! My point here is that I believe that 2007 marked the pinnacle of SCORE and ever since then it's just been going downhill.
I wonder what's going to happen for the 50th Anniversary of the Baja 1000, will SCORE still exist? will it have a new owner? will the Baja 1000 be promoted by another organization?

I think SCORE should add two more races in Mexico if they want to stick only to Mexico

No I dont think they built them only for Laughlin, but I do think most were built to race more then 3 races a year....
As far as "everyone moving to SCORE motor rules"....doubt it.

Well, someone did point out that this is an opportunity for other US-based organizations...

Maybe the lead horse at SCORE is just running out of steam or patience for the BS to put on a US races anymore? Look at it this way... If you'd seen the hey-day of desert racing as an organizer like Sal has and now had to put up with all the added BS that BLM throws...I'd possibly quite US race organizing too! This could be the swan-song for all organizations in the US? They just see it first... I certainly hope not. I do see the pains associated with land access in Southern Nevada....can't comment about anywhere else though.

We need both! SCORE will be fine. BITD will be fine. We have more off-road racing than ever before in history. It's not the end... it's the just beginning!

I'm betting you are doing yourself/sponsor a solid by not having Laughlin on the schedule... The laughlin contingency/tech was a ghost town prolly because of the pre tech. I could count all the unlimited vehicles that came through last time on one hand. This year I have been to every stateside race besides SNORE Ridgecrest and Caliente (they were too far) and SCORE laughlin was the most unattended event I have ever seen. Trying to market a product at contingency there would have had a terrible return on investment.
