Casey Currie's new series "truck cross"...short course racing is getting busy!

Anaheim Hills, CA (August 8, 2012) – Well known Short Course Champion and Off-Road racer, Casey Currie will team up with Feld Entertainment’s Monster Jam to take Short Course truck racing back to the stadiums in 2013 with TruckCross Off Road, known to Monster Jam fans as Stadium Sport Trucks.

Casey Currie’s TruckCross will join forces with the well-known Monster Jam Events for 2013, breathing life into off-road stadium racing once again. With 5 events in 2013, these events are estimated to see over 250,000 spectators and over 75,000 people pit-side, bringing stadium racing into full effect.

TruckCross/Stadium Sport Trucks utilize mid-sized trucks built specifically for closed-course racing. With 400+ horsepower V8 engines, and custom tube frame chassis, these trucks will be engineered to launch through the stadium dirt courses with crowd-pleasing ease.

“Monster Jam is one of the most exciting nights of entertainment and bringing TruckCross into the events is only going to increase the smiles in the crowd,” explains Casey of this new but familiar venture. “I am excited to bring Stadium Racing back, and with these 5 venues next year, we aim to have sold-out seating at every event.”

TruckCross/Stadium Sport Trucks will hit stadiums as a part of Monster Jam as follows in 2013:

San Diego, CA – January 19
    Phoenix, AZ – January 26
    Houston, TX – February 2
    Anaheim, CA – February 9
    Oakland, CA – February 23

    wow short course overload!?!?

is this robby's deal through something else?!?!
When a man knows how to live dangerously, he is not afraid to die. When he is not afraid to die, he is, strangely, free to live.

With that mentality though, I guess we could also make 2 TT classes for those guys that just can't keep up with the faster TTs. Oh wait.... This is racing. - Dan Vance

This is something different. Through Feld and will latch onto the Monster Truck races. Looks exciting! Stoked that Casey made this happen.

Interesting since Currie was part of the development of the SST truck, and seemed to be on board with SST. I wonder if this is Feld's way of trying to stop or squash RG's SST? Feld has been known as a Bully when it comes to indoor arena style motorsports. They dont seem to like competition. Robby's SST would be competition.

If I remember right Currie did a few Expo short course style events with Feld in the past. It would be interesting to know if Currie approached Feld, or did Feld contact Currie?

Also noticed Curries events start in Jan and end in Feb & SST does not start until April. So maybe there is no more then just what it is and I'm trying to find conflict?

I think you're reading a little too much into this. This is something Casey has been doing for a few years now with Pro Lite trucks. Same thing just added a few more races. TORC/Lucas approved V8 Pro Lite trucks.

Your probably right, but after all this is RDC and Drama & Conflict seem to be what keeps the wheels rolling around here.

HEY Casey Currie’s tuff trucks and Robby’s stadium spec trucks you’re doing it wrong.

See no monster trucks. Why not just call them both monster side show trucks.

I love the way they just left the uprighted trucks on the track! If you roll in turn one on lap one you hung upside down the entire race!
