powder coating a frame!! how well does it hold up?
well i tore down my 2005 yz250 aluminum frame last night and am rebuilding everything. but sense i have it bare right now im kind of thinking of powder coating the frame.
anyone with experience doing this? i have done the triple clamps before and looked and worked great but wondering how well the frame holds up with normal wear from boots.

It holds up well, looks f'n sick. Like you said since its down to the frame DO IT! Used to ride with a friend who had a KX and neon orange powder coated frame I never looked at it from like 2in away but from a few feet it always looked blingin.

yea i like how it looks and ive had the bike for a while and dont plan on buying a new one anytime soon. so since i had the motor out i figured might as well tear it all down. i going to do black and then get the triple clamps done to.

You could really get wild and pull off brake lever, sub frame, engine mounting brackets chain guide by rear sprocket. ect. have a trick lookn bike. If you look good you feel good and ride fast right?

Powdercoating is good, it's worth it if you can get a good deal. Skateboard grip tape or neatly mask off and spray on bed liner where your boots rub. This will prevent wear and more importantly, increase your ability to grip the bike.

ive used grip tape but not the spray liner that sounds like a pretty good idea
