Re: powder coating a frame!! how well does it hold up?
make sure that you remove any material where the wiring harness grounds to the frame, or your will have a nightmare on your hands.

Re: powder coating a frame!! how well does it hold up?
Just dropped my KX frame off at Olympic Powder Coating in Santa Ana. TONS of color options--I went for steel grey.
From past experience, I knew I didn't want to chase all the threads after powdercoating, so I threaded a bolt into each hole. They're all "sacrificial" bolts that I'll probably pitch after this, but they'll save some hassle.

Re: powder coating a frame!! how well does it hold up?
I did this to my bike about eight years ago and it does work great but like someone else said you with have to go over the frame and chase out any bolt holes, ( you can cover these or put in throw away hardware but the coating may crack away as these are removed),also the coating is thicker than paint so clamps may not fit just like they did before.

Re: powder coating a frame!! how well does it hold up?
One problem I had that I did not think through - I went to cross border for a fun Mexico ride and when the customs guy could not find my vin number I was like " it's on the frame idiot! Well not after the powder coat!!!! It covered the number!!
