Re: Perry Mcneil accident in san quintin.
My thoughts go out to all involved.. I had a couple of friends that were out there with perry. From what I understand the idiot that caused the accident was a spectator trying to cross the track on the blind side of a jump! And from what I'm told Perry was only taken in for questioning.. Still an unfortunate accident and sucks that someone's bad judgement (spectator crossing the track) caused someone else their life.

Re: Perry Mcneil accident in san quintin.
I was in this race and we chased so many cars off the course that I can't even remember how many. Like the one post said, this was a blind jump that started from the bottom of the river bed and shot up over a road that went along the top of the river bank. When you came up out of the river bed you could not see anything because of the angle of the approach. We were taking that jump about 60 mph. You just had to trust that someone working for the race was blocking traffic when you passed through. Looks like they failed at this particular time. A sad day. The young guy who died was a photographer and lived locally.

I wonder what his final shot was. Creepy.

Re: Perry Mcneil accident in san quintin.
More bad news- I just got word from San Quintin that the guy who died was 20 and his wife was 7 months pregnant. Horrible.
Also heard that the driver of the spectator car was driving an unregistered vehicle and in the commotion was able to slip away.
Fortunately the Mexican people are big on families and supporting any member that needs help. I hope the widow has a large family. I'll keep an ear to the ground and see if she lands on her feet.

Re: Perry Mcneil accident in san quintin.
I was told they caught the spectator who caused the accident and then took off! Apparently his neighboors outed him to the cops last night.
