Weatherman Relay to fly at this years Baja 1000!

Score and the Weatherman have teamed up again to support the racers with the famous "WEATHERMAN RELAY" at this years Baja 1000 race to La Paz. With the communications fees that Score has collected to be used to support the effort. As always costs have increased and the collected fees do not add up to what is needed to cover the event for the duration of the race. The planned schedule for this years flight plan will be published so racers will know when the Weatherman is down for fuel. Locos Mocos and the Baja Pits will also cover for the Weatherman on Diablo Mountain for the first third of the race. This years aircraft will be an air ambulance as used in the 2002 event. In 2002 the Weatherman's plane transported a downed rider to San Diego and helped save his life. At this years race Sal and Paul Fish have added a second flight for life plane and the Weatherman’s plane will be a reserve air ambulance with paramedic on board if the other two planes are in use to make this years Baja 1000 safer for you the racer. In order to fly for the duration of the event we need your help financially. With projected costs of up to $30,000 to support the race for the duration we have come up short. We are hoping to collect what we need to support this year’s event through the generosity of those who have been helped by the Weatherman in the past. Bob "The Weatherman" Steinberger donates his time in helping the racers, however he is retired and can not go in his pocket as he has done in the past. Steve Scaroni of SMD motorsports has donated the first $500 towards the Weatherman’s efforts. He was in a generous mood after a great SMD weekend with his boys, Matt and Dave not only winning the Vegas 200 in Protruck, but also racing the Fud night race on the same day for the overall win.
