Re: Score Awards
I got a nomination form, but never a ballot. I think a lot of people had the same thing happen. But they did not forget to send me an entry form for Laughlin though.
willing to take my money, but not allow me to try and vote for somebody I nominated, that sucks

Re: Score Awards
Kartek (Roy) handed over a check for $10,000.00 to Brian Jeffrey for the 4-wheel overall. Roy (with Sal's help) announced that for 2005 the Kartek prize purse would be $50,000 - expected to pay 25,000.00 to 1st, $15,000.00 to 2nd, and $10,000.00 to 3rd. KUH-CHING!
SCORE Contingency Sponsor of the year for 2004 was BFGoodrich Tires.
SCORE Pit Support of the year is also BFGoodrich Tires.
SCORE Mechanic for 2004 is John Hoffman from Pflueger Racing.
Overall it was a pretty good evening. It was LONG - started around 6pm and ended after 11pm. Juan B has some pictures and I'm sure will add some additional commentary.
Aloha

Re: Score Awards
The NBC broadcast from earlier that day was shown on the big screen during the dinner, and the long trailer for Dust to Glory was shown later. Somebody quite generously covered the bar tab for the first hour. There where many hotties. Some very good speeches. Good to see Kartek is getting out the BIG wallet for '05. Got to spend dinner at a table with Steve Hengeveld, Pat Chicas & DP Racing guys, and a pair of crazy women. Was able to meet a lot of drivers for the first time. Robby came in towards the end and Sal asked him over the PA why he was there. Robby yelled from the back of the room "TO SEE YOUR CHAMPIONS".... Total class.

Re: Score Awards
Gotta love those dp racing guys!! Class 21 champs 2 years in a row!! Not bad for a little YZ250. Joe (Spike) is seriously fast, Seve is a genius at race planning, Mark (Big_Tickets) can prep a bike with the best of them, and some of the best support riders out there..... A recipe for sucess!!!
Good luck at the Tecate Hare Scrambles. An awards banquet and a race in Tecate in the same weekend?? That is what racing is all about!!
Congratulations to all of the champions, and lets do it again next year!!

Re: Score Awards
Sal definately put on a nice evening of events. It was a long night, but all in all a good time. Nice seeing old friends and meeting new ones. I won a Pflueger TT! Well...the toy model at least =) Thanks to whomever kept the bar tab open for another hour!!!
It started out with the long trailer of D2G, which was awesome, and just made me more anxious to see the movie!!! There are talks in the works for a special premier for the SCORE racers, which I thought was really cool. We watched the NBC special which was interesting the way they depicted the race. They also played the Laughlin Section of DP3 which had EVERYONE pumped up and ready for next season!
Many awards and speeches were given, I really liked Dave Collier and Matt Scaroni's speeches, good job guys!!! Congrats to our rookie of the year Andy McMillin, mechanic of the year John Hoffman, Gnarly Racing/Dave Collier 5/1600, and DP Racing/Seve, Joe and Big Tickets Class 21 Champs, you guys rock!!! (are you gonna go for 3 in '05 ???) Robby G. showing up towards the end of the night was unexpected, his comment about coming to see your champions to Sal was all class.
CONGRATULATIONS to KIT Racing, ADAM PFANKUCH and BRIAN JEFFREY our OVERALL POINTS CHAMPS!!!
CONGRATULATIONS to all of our 2004 SCORE Champs, see you all in Laughlin!
Merry Christmas, Feliz Navidad, and Happy New Year!!!
