    Re: Dual Sports

Alumi Craft is your best choice! I've had multible cars both desert and sand for the past 15 years and none of them compare to Alumin Craft. John Cooley makes the best.

We bought 4 dual purpose 4 seat buggies from John in 1999. All the same chassis and motor. My car has over 3,000 prerun miles. I was at Glamis this weekend and plan to prerun San felipe. My car can dune and drag race with any buggie at Glamis.

Tom Watson was one of the four cars like ours and he probably has over 5K prerun miles.

Fred Reva preruns with Scott Sellars and he was at Glamis with us this past weekend with his Alumi Craft.

After 5 years, none of the 4 cars has expierenced a crack in the frame, broke suspension, bent frame, etc. I have never experience a problem prerunning in baja.

Alumicart has a bunch of different styles of cars to choose from.

You can have the best of both worlds. we scarfice nothing in the dunes, and we have safe comfortable prerun cars.

    Thats my two cents!

I second that. Desert Dynamics make some great looking cars. They are built for the dirt for sure. He makes them 2 or 4 seat, a-arm or beam front.

    Re: Dual Sports

there is a huge wait for desert dynamic's also... dave cannot turn the cars out quick enough and has quite a few orders comeing in... there are some problems with the car's too... the front arms are 8 inches wider than the rear.. the motor/tranny angle is huge (we hacked out the mounts and made new ones)

if you can get your hands on one, they are awesome. we are completing chassis #2 and it is all chromoly tig welded ( double wash pass, looks BEAUTIFUL ) to bad it will be powdercoated and all the welds hidden... still waiting for the correct arms since around the beginning of december and our shop is only 2 miles away from daves. sweet cars that are built strong, just need a little r&d, and time on them

I was referring to Dave's Dual sport car for Rufriders post since he was looking at a sub 40k price.

Now the question should be where are people getting all this extra money to afford these toys.

These companies are actually financing these toys? That seems a little crazy to me....financing a new $75k toy but hats off to these companies for trying to make a few extra bucks and get more of their product out there.
