I got invited to the premier through work and all I can say is what a first class event they put together! Full red carpet walkway lined with media, TT's parked in front on the street, an amazing theater with the biggest screen I've ever seen and they even managed to get some celebraties to the event.
The movie is truly sensational. It has all the elements of blockbuster hit; drama, beautiful cinematography, big name "actors" and an awesome director all wrapped around an awe inspiring plot. The movie does a great job of catering to those active in the sport while still appealling to those who have no never even heard of the Baja 1000. Cudos to Dana Brown, Mouse McCoy, Marty Fiolka and the rest of those responsible for making the movie and the event a smashing success!
Some Highlights:
- Open bar
- Seeing the Pleuger TT stuck in traffic as it cruises down Sunset Blvd.
- Seeing the passion in Marty Fiolka's eyes when talking to him about the movie. This man truly loves this sport!
- The amount of good free tequila Cabo Wabo was handing out
- Walking down the red carpet and getting our picture taken by the media
- Hanging with the Pleuger Mafia - Gabe, John, Willie and Mike
- Watching Andy McMillin get super embarrassed when having to talk to the Speed Channel
- Taking shots with the Desert Assassins in the theater before the movie started
- The amount of beautiful women that turned out...even though they all wanted Mouse!
- Seeing D2G for the first time
Some Lowlights:
- Having to leave an open bar to chalked full of chicks to drive home :-(
- Taking care of a certain PT driver who had a little too much fun! ;-)
