Dust to Glory from Dallas - Awesome!
After listening to all you West Coasters who got to see early screenings rave about the movie and keeping me in suspense waiting and waiting for it to finally show - I finally got to see it on opening night here in Dallas at the Magnolia Theatre. And yes, it's an awesome movie! If you're a desert racer, a Baja traveler, or just a spectating fan like me who lives too far from all the action, it's a definite must see!!
And where's the DFW/North Texas crew? It was pitiful that there were only 4 people in the whole theatre at the 7:15 p.m. showing - me included! After reading the posts how some theatres were sold out (or almost sold out), I was afraid I might have arrived at the theatre too late and would have to wait til the next showing - ha!
Anyway, I just told my cousin about it and got him hyped up to see it with me next time. I just hope it's still playing next weekend before they pull the plug on it in Dallas for lack of ticket sales. Cuz I definitely want to see it again next weekend! And when the DVD comes out, I definitely want to buy that, too!
All in all an excellent movie!
Oh, and I'm kicking myself right now cuz I forgot to buy a D2G T-shirt they were selling at the theatre - dang it! Hope they still have some for sale next weekend.

I know exactly where Coppell is - nice part of town. Are they into desert racing and off-roading? If so, tell 'em to check out the movie. I think the closest theatre to them would be the Angelika in Plano. But if they have a beat up old 4x4 like mine, tell them to drive down to the Magnolia in the West Village (trendy, rich, yuppy part of town) and park it next to all the $60K plus Porsches, Landrovers, Lexus and BMWs at the West Village. I gleefully parked my $2K ugly, 12 year old Ford Bronco with faded paint, black steelies and loud exhaust next to a brand new, pristine Volvo SUV (which, I must admit, if I had the money wouldn't mind pimping around town in, either!). If anything, at least they'll contribute to movie sales at the Magnolia. I just want the movie to keep showing for a bit longer so I can go back and watch it a few more times!

Yeah, I read your post earlier about the Austin showing. Only wish it would've had an earlier viewing here in Dallas, too! I didn't know it was also opening in Austin. Glad to hear Texas is getting its fair share of the movie!

I saw it up athe the Angelika in Plano. They had a couple of cars set up outside and the 7:30 showing had probably 125-150 people there. That's about all that tiny theater can hold so it was good. We are still trying to get a big group together and go see it again.
If Nissan's motorsport division is NISMO, what is Honda's motorsport division?

That is awesome. I wish the Magnolia had something similar, but I guess because of the crowded layout of the West Village it would be impractical to set up a race car. I went to the Magnolia cuz it's so much closer to me - just 5 minutes from work. So when I got off, I went straight over there. It was real sad when I walked in the theatre and saw all those empty seats - only two other people were there. Right when the movie started one other person showed up - so there were 4 total in the whole the place! I half expected to see the entire crew of the Dallas 4WPW store on opening night since they had flyers for the movie posted up and were giving away free issues of the latest Dirtsports Magazine, but who knows, maybe they were all at the Angelika last night.
I definitely want to see it again. Maybe we could set up a big group to see it at the Magnolia so ticket sales won't look so bad there, then go again in another big group at the Angelika? I'm willing to see at least two more times in theatres!

Good to hear from you again, Michael! I just saw it again tonight with the g/f. She hated it, but I loved it. I may go see it again Thursday night with my cousin. I'll let you know if we go.
