    Jack mount

Looking for ideas on how to mount an aluminum jack to the rear cage of my race truck. Any photos showing different mounts would be helpful. I have a few ideas to use some available space, but it would involve climbing into the rear of the truck to access it, not something I would really want to do during a race.

Obviously the best would be easy access, easy removal / re-installation, and protection from damage. Just wondering what others have done to solve this problem.

    Thanks,

I searched my archive of race photos and couldn't find a good pic, sorry. I'm sure there is someone else out there who can help.

Are you in a hurry? When I NEED some ideas I wait for an MDR or MORE race and go look at all the trucks and bugs! There is nothing better than seeing what people really run (and can I recomend going to tech inspection. It is the best time since they are not moving. I found it was harder to see what I needed to see when they were racing...jk)

    Re: Jack mount

We built a vertical mount on the K5 we help with. I don't have the truck or pics but it stood up on the end and has a single quick pin through the alum skid to hold it in. You do have to pick it all the way up to get it out but it was the best use of the space available.

    Re: Jack mount

Here are some photos of the truck and the jack in it's current un-modified state.

We originally planned on putting the jack horizontal (marked in red) along the crossmember shown in the first photo. No Bueno!, I don't want to have to climb in and out of the back of the truck to get to the jack.

My other idea was to add two tubes to the bumper and mount the jack with pull pins so it will drop down from underneath. Just not sure how much damage it will stand up to when someone comes up and nerfs me.

Wannabe, Never in a hurry to do it the right way, and I've seen jacks mounted in about every concievable place, everything is a compromise. I'm paying for my lack of forethought while the truck was at the fabber's shop, when it would have been easier to take care of. Just trying to get some ideas.

    Thanks for the input everyone
