    Re: Cutting spring plates

Rob, I stand corrected. I guess I just kinda "assumed" the housing was aftermarket. I doubt it was changed since you had it.

I also called SCORE tech and asked about the lengthened spring plates. I was given a verbal "OK" about the plates. I would like to get it in writing, but I bet things at SCORE are pretty busy right now with the rule changes.

I plan on running 27mm bars, nothing special tho. I hope to get the car to perform close to the level that it was at before, I have quite a challenge ahead of me. ahah! challenge. challenger.

    nevermind lol

    Re: Cutting spring plates

Tim - I'm almost sure Scott A. had the stock T-housing taken out and replaced along with the entire rear shock mount set-up, upper and lower! You can tell by the end cap castings where the grommets fit! Aftermarket housings have plates instead of castings. We ran 28mm 300m bars and 2.5 Fox rear shox valved at 75/85/ for most tracks! Also make sure you weigh the car when you are done as we were always within 15 lbs of limit without any added weight!

    Re: Cutting spring plates

In my experience i would recomend to use chromolly spring plates the mild steel ones bent to easy, think about it, if the stock lenght spring plates bent in my car imagine larger ones, the set of chromolly ones i'm using right now have close to 2400 miles and still good.

    Re: Cutting spring plates

well, im almost done cutting mine. they arent chromo, but they are definitely strong. 1/4" thick, and it took me 10 minutes to cut them with a chop saw, and and even longer with the hole saw. in fact, the bi-metal hole saw couldnt even make it through both plates! im going to have to use a jig saw to finish them up. i will post pics as soon as i finish
